Which splitboard should Jones choose?
Jones Snowboards offers a very wide choice of splitboards. In the brand's 2020-2021 catalogue, there are no less than 12 different splitboard models: 8 for men, 3 for women and 1 for children.
The Youth Solution, for kids, is a high-performance and versatile model enabling them to follow in the footsteps of the grown-ups! Women have the choice between the Women's Solution Split which is a high performance freeride model, the Dream Catcher Split which is more backcountry/freestyle and the Women's Hovercraft Split which will also be backcountry oriented but with a very directional shape ideal for beautiful curves. Finally, the men really have a lot of choice in Jones' splitboard section. There are alternatively shaped splitboards such as the Storm Chaser Split for maximum fun and slaloming through the pines, carbon reinforced splitboards such as the Ultra Solution Split and Ultracraft Split for those looking for maximum stiffness and performance, or models such as the Moutain Twin Split or the Frontier Split for those looking for versatile and technically accessible splits.
How are Jones splitboards made?
Jones splitboards are manufactured in Dubai in a solar powered factory. The brand strives to manufacture snowboards and splitboards with the lowest possible environmental impact, and the decision to locate the factory in Dubai is not insignificant. Indeed, the commercial hub that is Dubai allows the factory to source a large part of the materials locally, thus reducing the environmental impact of raw materials. In addition, Jones snowboards and splitboards incorporate a maximum amount of bio-sourced or recycled materials in their construction. These include certified wood cores from sustainably managed forests, plant-based glue and wax, flax and balsa fibre reinforcements where possible, recycled steel edges, recycled ABS edgebands, and more.
