Description

While most splitboards are made of 2 pieces, the Salomon Premiere features a 4 piece construction. This more complex manufacturing technique allows to save weight when hiking, without sacrificing riding pleasure in the descent. This method is surely what contributed to make the Premiere a reference in terms of lightness in the splitboard world.

What is the program of the Salomon Premiere snowboard?

With the Premiere splitboard, the mountains are within reach: its lightweight construction allows to climb higher and hike for longer, everything to discover new landscapes and experience new adventures. Its great ascending comfort is completed by a directional shape and camber + rocker profile. The directional shape naturally promotes good floatability, as your weight is put further back. The front rocker enhances the ability to lift in powder and allows to enter quicker into turns. The classic camber in the centre of the board provides good grip, an appreciated trait both in the descents and for kick turns when climbing. Of course, such a level of lightness comes at a price and the Premiere will not be as stable and powerful as other splitboards in the descents. However, it will still work on any type of snow and provide thrilling sensations when flying down the mountains, especially as you will save energy during the ascents!

Who is the Salomon Premiere snowboard for?

The Salomon Premiere is meant for advanced to expert level snowboarders used to off-piste riding and able to handle their board on any type of snow. The Premiere will suit riders looking for a lightweight splitboard that makes the ascent easier to the detriment of the descent.

Tips and advice

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
