The Atomic Backland Pro W benefits from the Prolite construction, which means that it weighs only 1030 grams (per boot in a 24/24.5 size), but offers an excellent responsiveness and control on descents. Its 98 mm toe box, Energy Backbone reinforcement, Boa binding and 40 mm strap make it a good descent boot, while remaining outstanding on the ascent thanks to the 74° range of travel offered by the Free/Lock 4.0 ski/walk system.
