Description

This Speedmax is the ski you see the most on the World Cup and it has met great success during the last Winter Olympics. As you can understand, this is a model focused on performance.

What are the characteristics of the Fischer Speedmax 3D Classic Plus 902 Medium Nordic ski?

For this high-end ski, we chose the most forgiving version, the Classic 902 construction featuring a rather short camber that provides a more direct contact at the tip and tail, facilitating technical sections and making the glide more homogenous with a surface that flattens more easily. The Medium stiffness perfectly suits this type of ski as it allows to find grip easily, even in difficult sections. The honeycomb structure combined to an HM carbon plate provides amazing lateral stiffness to reduce the torsion of the ski on step turns and going off tracks, while promoting dynamism during the kick phase. The Plus base is ideal for our European conditions, it is most efficient between 0 and -5°C. This being said, Fischer indicates a larger range, the ski can easily be used between +2 and –10°C. Like on all the high-end skis, the base is cold bonded with the Cold Base Bonding technology. This process does not impact the molecular structure of the base and promotes a longer lifespan of the wax. Another key element, the 3D name designates Fischer skis with waxable sidewalls. Designed with a very thin base, they can be waxed, but WARNING! Only with liquid cold wax. The kick area is to be adjusted by the skier based on sensations, we recommend to start short and increase progressively the wax pocket to find the best balance. This technical high-end ski offers the best for classic technique with the most advanced technologies.  

Useful information:

  • All Fischer cross-country skis from this range are pre-waxed to protect the bases during storage and transport. It is required to scrape and brush the skis before using them.
  • All Fischer Nordic skis feature IFP plates for Turnamic bindings compatible with NNN, Prolink and Turnamic boot standards.

Who is the Fischer Speedmax 3D Classic Plus 902 Medium cross-country ski for?

To be perfectly clear, this ski is accessible to only a few skiers. Firstly, as it is a classic waxable ski, it requires some experience and needs to be maintained often. Secondly, this kind of ski is more difficult to ski than skin or scale skis. Therefore, it is meant for seasoned skiers who know how to maintain such a ski, long distance and competitive skiers are the ones most likely to benefit from this model.
