Description

The Sum'Tec ice axe from Petzl stands out for its versatility. Suitable for classic routes as well as technical ones, it stands out for its modular design. Indeed, while it is supplied here with a hammer and an Ice blade, it can be fitted with a purlin and Pur'Ice or Dry blades (sold separately) which are interchangeable. It can also be fitted with weights, also sold separately.

In the configuration proposed here with the hammer, it enables all the more precise and effective anchoring in ice or mixed. As for the Ice blade, it easily penetrates all types of ice.
The Sum'Tec also benefits from the Trigrest support scale, which adjusts quickly and without tools. It allows the hand or index finger to be positioned on the curved handle, offering a secure and comfortable grip when pulling. Finally, the steel tip, located at the end of the handle, ensures solid support in pick-and-roll mode on snow-covered surfaces.
