Petzl's Micro Traxion pulley is a veritable Swiss Army knife in its own right. It's the essential piece of equipment for all glacier races both on skis and with crampons. It will enable you to ascend a rope as efficiently as a cord ring, a Tibloc or a Jumar handle. It will also enable you to quickly secure a companion who has fallen into a crevasse on a dead body, or to mount a double mariner very easily.
