How to choose your women ski package?
The new season is coming and you want to treat yourself with a new pair of alpine women skis, but you feel a little confused when you see the number of skis available, and we haven’t even mentioned the number of bindings yet! And when it comes to mounting them on the skis, this is even worse. Don’t worry! Glisshop.co.uk is going to make your life easier to make sure you spend a great winter!
Mirst thing, what kind of ski are you looking for?
Because that’s where it starts, what are you planning this winter and what are your expectations? A women ski needs to look good and match your tastes, but more importantly it needs to meet your needs in performance.
If you spend your day on groomed slopes and you are an aggressive skier, better pick a performance-oriented ski that delivers speed. However, if you are more of a versatile skier then you should have a look at all-mountain skis, they are more playful and deal with variable conditions and terrains better.
But if your plans are different and you want to discover new ways of skiing the mountain, far from the crowd and away from the lifts, then you should definitely go for freeride skis. These have a different profile with big rockered tips and oversized sidecuts enhancing performance and floatation on powder snow.
And who knows, you may even be interested into twin-tipped skis best suited for park and pipe sessions. These skis are nimble and poppy, intended for freestylers.
Ok, I got the skis, what bindings now?
Whatever your style and ski, one of the most important thing in a women ski package is the binding you will use. It is the piece of safety that will ensure a safe release of your boot in case you fall, but it needs to be adjusted correctly!
To complete your ski package, we have designed a calculator that takes in account your height, weight, age, technical skills, shoe size and boot length to find out what DIN value suits you best.
With this in mind, you can choose a binding that has a DIN range adapted to your needs. Try to find a model that offers a wide range of DINs, the wider, the better. If, for example, you need a DIN at 6, better get a binding that offers a range of values going from 3 to 11 rather than something ranging from 6 to 16. This way, you have the option to loosen or tighten your binding if needed. When you receive it, all you have to do is open the box, put the skis in the car and drive to the resort!
