Description

The Nidecker Merc is a snowboard geared towards freeride and all-mountain riding, featuring a directional twin shape that provides excellent carving ability and enjoyable manoeuvrability on all types of terrain.

What is the Nidecker Merc snowboard made for?

The Merc incorporates a Master Core, combining different wood densities to offer an excellent weight-to-performance ratio. This core is part of a Premium Sandwich construction, using carbon to enhance durability and improve shock absorption. This makes it a board that is both dynamic and comfortable, suitable for all terrains. Its directional twin shape facilitates entry into turns and allows for efficient riding in all snow conditions. It offers good float in powder thanks to the rockers at the tips, and on hard snow, it ensures excellent edge hold with its traditional camber section. Its stability allows to ride fast and hone your carving skills. You can vary the terrains, commit into turns, and even send some tricks if you enjoy freestyle.

Who is the Nidecker Merc snowboard aimed at?

This model is perfectly suited for intermediate to advanced snowboarders who enjoy riding fast and carving beautiful turns on various terrains. The Merc offers a good balance between performance and comfort, allowing you to increase your pace while maintaining great playability.

Tips and advice

The length of your board is extremely important. Several parameters have to be taken into account : Your height, your weight, your level and your program (allmountain-freeride-freestyle). We created a calculator that will tell you what size of board would suit you best, once you've completed these parameters. You can also call us (+33 4 73 26 98 47) to get a personal advice from our experienced team.
The snowboards you'll purchase on our website are all factory waxed and tuned. That means it's ready to hit the slopes. However, that doesn't work forever, and in order to keep your equipment at the top performance, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.
Maintaining your skis is essential to ensure an optimal glide and grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your board, or on how damaged it is. We recommend that you wax it every 10 riding days, and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't get them overtuned because every tuning takes some of the steel off.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge tuners, etc. You can find them on our website.
