The Atomic Backland Sport is a great boot for touring. It's fairly light, offers impressive travel to extend your stride on walks, and has a well-balanced flex that offers responsiveness but is still easy to ski. The improved ski/walk system with Free/Lock 4.0 technology, the few grams the new construction has reduced, and the overall comfort of use make this a benchmark model.

If you dream of days of skiing on your own, without depending on lifts and with the prospect of beautiful scenery but also great descents, the Atomic Backland Sport is a great option. With them, ascents are a delight. Its very low weight of 1,189 grams (in a mondo point size 26 - 26.5) and 74° of travel allow you to devour ascents without batting an eye. Once the hard part is behind you, all you have to do is switch to descent mode and ride the line you like. It's not the biggest descent model and powerful skiers won't have all the reactivity they want, but it still allows you to have fun and make nice turns on all types of terrains.
