F1 Range: Performance
The F1 ski touring boot is lighter than the Maestrale and offers a much greater range of motion. In return, it’s slightly less stiff on the descent, but the goal here is to walk and climb efficiently. This is why it’s a favourite among mountain guides and enthusiasts — in terms of weight, walking comfort and skiing quality, few boots can match it. The most demanding skiers will even find a lighter LT version, borrowing part of the Alien RS cuff design to maintain good skiability while approaching the one-kilogram-per-foot mark. However, note that the F1’s toe and heel welts are quite narrow and therefore only compatible with pin bindings, not hybrid or frame bindings.
