The Faction Dancer range gradually evolves from a sporty piste ski with a 79 mm waist to a 116 mm freeride model. The higher the number, the greater the ski’s float and the more it is geared towards deep snow, at the expense of quick edge-to-edge transitions on groomed snow.

The Faction Dancer range: eco-conscious freeride and all-mountain skis
Faction is committed to an eco-conscious approach: using local materials to reduce its carbon footprint and sourcing wood in line with FSC standards, among other measures. In the same way, Faction recycles its materials in its new products. All this, without sacrificing any of the performance of its skis.
Faction: a brand offering fun, high-performance skis
The Faction Dancer ski range combines performance and versatility. With their refined design, these models let you ride side hits, chopped-up snow or high-speed powder runs, while maintaining excellent stability.
These all-mountain and freeride skis cover a wide range of terrain and conditions. Their terrain stretches from precise carving on piste to off-piste powder skiing, with characteristics that vary according to each model’s width and positioning in the range.
The Faction Dancer skis are built around a wood core that gives them energy, stability and a quality flex. The different models have sidecuts suited to several riding styles, with balanced turn radii and generally lively handling.
Their profile combines traditional camber underfoot, designed to enhance grip and edge hold, with rockers that make it easier to float in deep snow and pivot when the terrain becomes softer or more uneven.
The flex of the Dancer skis provides support while ensuring smooth transitions from one turn to the next. However, the level of stiffness varies from model to model to suit skiing styles ranging from sporty piste skiing to freeride in deep snow.
The Dancer range includes skis with waist widths from 79 to 116 mm. Positioned at the centre of the collection with its 96 mm waist, the Dancer 2 offers good float in fresh snow while still retaining enough manoeuvrability and grip on groomed trails.
The shape of the Dancer skis is designed to balance performance, stability and manoeuvrability. Their construction incorporates titanal reinforcements that increase torsional stiffness, improve edge hold and enhance stability as speed rises.
The Faction Dancer range is aimed at discerning skiers looking for a high-performance all-mountain or freeride ski, capable of remaining precise on piste while staying comfortable in the side country, in chopped snow and in the backcountry. The choice of model should, however, be matched to the preferred terrain, with the narrower versions being more piste-focused and the wider ones more oriented towards powder.
Faction Dancer 2: review after testing
Tested in Verbier on groomers, the Faction Dancer 2 showed very good edge hold when carving, including during powerful pressure in the final part of the turn. At pace, the ski remains stable and filters vibrations effectively. Its flat tail provides support and control through linked turns, making it well suited to a dynamic, committed style of skiing.
In powder and on steeper sections, its float remains satisfactory for a ski with a 96 mm waist. It still feels confidence inspiring, even if it is less specialised in deep snow than the Dancer 3 and 4.
