Nova 2 or Nova 4: two piste skis for progressing

Nova 2 Xpress: the most approachable model in the range

The Rossignol Nova 2 Xpress is aimed at beginner to intermediate female skiers who prioritise forgiveness and confidence-building progression. Its 74 mm waist promotes quick edge-to-edge transitions, while the tip rocker makes turn initiation easier. The traditional camber retains edge grip as your inputs become more precise.

Its construction combines a PEFC-certified poplar wood core with fibreglass. Rossignol also uses Oversized Sidecut technology to make turning easier. The Nova 2 is therefore the entry point to the range for learning and consolidating piste technique.

Nova 4 Xpress: the next step towards developing carving skills

The Nova 4 Xpress is still intended for progressing skiers, but adds more structure. It retains a 74 mm waist, traditional camber and tip rocker, while combining a poplar core with a Carbon Beam positioned beneath the foot.

Its Assist Flex remains the most approachable flex profile offered by Rossignol in this family. The Nova 4 is therefore ideal for skiers who want a forgiving ride while beginning to engage their edges more actively through turns.

Nova 6 or Nova 8: stepping up to more dynamic carving

Nova 6 Xpress: for greater precision

The Rossignol Nova 6 Xpress marks the transition to the range's performance piste models. Designed for intermediate to advanced female skiers, it features a 75 mm waist, traditional camber and tip rocker. This combination maintains quick edge changes while making turn entry easier.

Its Rectangular Full Sidewall construction and PEFC-certified poplar core are complemented by a Carbon Beam. The more dynamic Active Flex supports skiers as they begin to increase both speed and edge angle through their turns.

Nova 8 Xpress: greater support under pressure

The Nova 8 Xpress remains focused on short turns and carving but takes the construction up another level. Rossignol combines a PEFC-certified poplar core with Rectangular Full Sidewall construction and a Carbon Alloy Matrix, which notably blends carbon, basalt and fibreglass.

With a 75 mm waist and Active Flex, the Nova 8 is aimed at intermediate to advanced female skiers seeking more support and responsiveness than the Nova 4 and 6, without yet moving up to Titanal-reinforced models.

Nova 10 or Nova 14: what is the difference for advanced skiers?

Nova 10 Xpress: introducing Titanal

The Nova 10 Xpress steps up the level of demand. Intended for advanced to expert female skiers, it features Titanal reinforcement combined with Boost Flex. This construction provides greater support as edge pressure becomes stronger and the pace increases.

With a 75 mm waist, traditional camber, tip rocker and Oversized Sidecut, the Nova 10 remains entirely focused on carving performance. It is the first choice in this collection for skiers who already have sound technique and are looking for a more powerful ski.

Nova 14 Konect: the most performance-oriented model in the range

The Rossignol Nova 14 Konect sits at the top of the Nova line-up. It is designed for advanced to expert female skiers who drive their skis hard on groomed trails. Its Titanal-reinforced wood core, Boost Flex, V-Profile and Oversized Sidecut are engineered to handle more powerful inputs and deliver precise turn performance.

The choice between the Nova 10 and Nova 14 is therefore not based on width, as both have a 75 mm waist. The Nova 14 stands out primarily for its more performance-focused positioning and Konect interface, whereas the Nova 10 is equipped with the Xpress system.

Xpress or Konect on Rossignol Nova skis?

The Nova collection uses two interface systems. The Nova 2, Nova 4, Nova 6, Nova 8 and Nova 10 feature an Xpress interface, while the Nova 14 uses a Konect interface.

However, Xpress should not automatically be associated with beginner-level skis: the Nova 10 Xpress itself is intended for advanced to expert skiers. Within the Nova range, your choice should therefore be based first and foremost on ability level, desired handling characteristics and ski construction, rather than the type of interface.
