Salomon Stance

The Salomon Stance range brings together all mountain skis designed to maintain precision and edge grip on groomers while remaining effective when the snow turns softer or more uneven. It centres on the E Stance models, which are versatile and approachable, and the sportier, demanding Stance Pro skis. Depending on the model, their construction combines a wood core with titanal reinforcements designed to improve stability, power transfer and edge hold. You can also browse the full range of skis from the Salomon brand.

Which Salomon Stance ski should you choose?

The narrower Stance models prioritise manoeuvrability, quick edge-to-edge transitions and precision on groomed trails. The wider versions provide more stability in chopped-up snow and greater ease when the snow becomes softer. Width alone, however, does not fully define their behaviour: the construction, metal reinforcements and stiffness level also vary from model to model.

Salomon E Stance 80 and E Stance W 80: the most approachable models

With an 80 mm waist, the Salomon E Stance 80 and E Stance W 80 are the narrowest models in the range. Their double rocker profile makes turn initiation easier and adds versatility on the edges of the slopes, while the traditional camber preserves reliable grip on groomed snow. Their wood core, reinforced with a layer of titanal, promotes liveliness and stability. They are aimed at intermediate to advanced skiers looking for an easy-to-use all mountain ski.

Salomon E Stance 84 and E Stance W 84: more versatility

The Salomon E Stance 84 and E Stance W 84 gain a few millimetres underfoot to handle better in soft or uneven snow, while remaining precise on groomers. Their 84 mm width is a strong contender for intermediate to advanced skiers who want to enjoy the whole ski area.

Salomon Stance Pro 86: a sporty, agile all mountain ski

The Salomon Stance Pro 86 marks the entry point into the Stance Pro family. Its 86 mm waist keeps edge-to-edge quickness while allowing you to venture comfortably off the piste edge. Its poplar wood core, Wide Steel Edge and Powerflex Ti plate deliver punch, stability and good power transmission. It is suitable for intermediate to advanced skiers seeking more performance without moving to a very wide ski.

Salomon Stance Pro W 88: the sporty women’s model

The Salomon Stance Pro W 88 is aimed at advanced to expert female skiers looking for precision, stability and versatility. Its 88 mm waist offers an excellent balance between grip on hard snow and ease in chopped-up conditions. Its Twin Frame 2 construction pairs a karuba and poplar core with two titanal reinforcements and Full Sandwich sidewalls to enhance hold and responsiveness.

Salomon Stance Pro 90: versatility and stability across the whole resort

The Salomon Stance Pro 90 is an all-mountain ski intended for advanced to expert skiers. Its karuba and poplar core and double titanal reinforcements boost precision, responsiveness and grip on hard snow. Its 90 mm waist also helps it stay stable and manoeuvrable when the snow becomes uneven or chopped up.

Salomon Stance Pro 96: the widest model in the range

The Salomon Stance Pro 96 shifts the focus further towards powder. With a 96 mm waist, it offers more surface area and support when the snow gets deep, while still retaining the precision expected from the Stance range. Its karuba and poplar core, double titanal reinforcements and full sandwich construction make it a powerful model for advanced to expert skiers.

What is the difference between the Salomon E Stance 80 and E Stance 84?

The E Stance 80 is narrower and places more emphasis on manoeuvrability and quick edge-to-edge transitions. The E Stance 84 adds four millimetres underfoot and therefore gains support when the snow becomes softer or more uneven. Both are still intended for casual all mountain skiing, with a strong ability to perform on piste and around the edges.

What is the difference between E Stance and Stance Pro?

The E Stance 80 and 84, also available in women’s versions, prioritise versatility and ease of use for intermediate to advanced skiers. The Stance Pro models use more performance-focused constructions and gradually increase in width with the 86, W 88, 90 and 96. They offer more support and stability when the pace increases or the terrain becomes more demanding.

What is the difference between the Salomon Stance Pro 86, 90 and 96?

The Stance Pro 86 is the closest to piste skiing and prioritises agility and rapid edge changes. The Stance Pro 90 brings more versatility in varied terrain while still retaining strong performance on hard snow. The Stance Pro 96, being wider, offers more support in softer, chopped-up snow and is better suited to skiers who spend a larger share of their time off-piste and on ungroomed terrain.

Salomon Stance Pro W 88: the sporty women’s all mountain model

The Salomon Stance Pro W 88 is an all mountain ski aimed at advanced to expert female skiers seeking precision on piste and stability when the snow gets chopped up or deeper. Its 88 mm waist maintains quick edge-to-edge performance while offering more ease in powder than the E Stance W 80 and W 84.

Its construction combines a karuba and poplar core, a double titanal layer, Full Sandwich construction and Twin Frame 2 technology. This package promotes grip, responsiveness and hold when the pace increases.

What is the difference between the Salomon Stance Pro 90 and Pro 96?

The Stance Pro 90 retains a quicker, more versatile feel for everyday resort use. The Stance Pro 96 offers more surface area and a calmer, more composed ride when speed builds or the snow becomes uneven. Both are aimed at advanced to expert skiers looking for a high-performance construction and good stability across the whole ski area.

Who is the Salomon Stance range for?

The Stance range covers several all mountain ability levels. The E Stance 80 and E Stance W 80 are the narrowest and most manoeuvrable options. The E Stance 84 and E Stance W 84 add more versatility in varied terrain. The Stance Pro 86 takes a sportier approach, while the Stance Pro W 88, Pro 90 and Pro 96 gradually increase in width, stability and capability in deeper or more uneven snow.
