Classic skis with skins are getting more and more popular over the years and Rossignol sticks to the trend with an entire line dedicated in their 2018 catalogue. This ski is a high-end version of the R-Skin inspired by the X-IUM. It was designed to emphasise manoeuvrability and performance, suited for skiers who want something lively and waxless.
What can the Rossignol R-Skin Race nordic ski do?
The R-Skin Race IFP features the exact same construction as the X-IUM Classic, making it livelier than the other skin skis in Rossignol lineup. It comes with an ultra light honeycomb core offering effortless performance on difficult terrains and through step turns. The dynamic personality of the ski allows technical skiers to use it as a race ski but with the comfort of the skins making the ski more forgiving and more accessible. The Active Cap construction enhances the lateral rigidity without compromising the flexiblity of the ski. It feels very pleasant and will never let you down regardless of the conditions. The R-Skin skins are short and tapered, they offer an excellent glide-grip ratio and make classic ski sessions easier when you don’t have much time to prep. Last innovation on this ski, the new IFP plate designed to work with the new Turnamic bindings developed by Rossignol. It is compatible with NNN, Prolink or Turnamic boots but it doesn’t work with SNS systems for now.
Who is the Rossignol R-Skin Race cross-country ski designed for?
Suited for a large crowd of skiers, the R-Skin Race offers accessible performance. Racers will find here a nice training ski requiring no waxing at all to save time. Classic skiers who are not chasing performance should like the high-end construction of this ski and the gliding properties it offers. The ski adapts to the skier’s level thanks to the R-Skin technology.
