The Challenge 2.0 Jr Nordic ski jacket from Bjorn Daehlie is designed for young Nordic ski enthusiasts. With 10K waterproofing, this children's jacket provides excellent protection against moisture.

Equipped with Softshell construction, this Nordic ski jacket offers optimum protection against cold and moisture. The waterproof-breathable membrane ensures 10,000 mm of waterproofing and 10,000 g/m²/24h of breathability, guaranteeingoptimal comfort all day long.

The design of the sleeves and back of the jacket is more stretchy, allowing increased freedom of movement. The upper front is lined with Thermore® Ecodown insulation, offering extra protection against the cold in this particularly exposed area.

The Challenge 2.0 Jr jacket also features a durable PFC-free Bionic Finish Eco® water-repellent treatment, enhancing its ability to cope with moisture. YKK zips, two zipped hand pockets and an adjustable waist with grip to keep the jacket in place add a practical touch to this ski jacket.

Which softshell garment should you choose?

Choosing a softshell piece depends above all on your activity, the intensity of your effort and the weather conditions. For dynamic use, opt for a lightweight, breathable and stretchy model. For cold weather or less intensive outings, choose a thicker softshell with an insulating inner face.

Softshell jackets, trousers and gloves

Softshell jackets

A softshell jacket is a versatile outer layer for activities in cool and windy weather. More supple and generally more breathable than a conventional waterproof jacket, it is particularly well suited to sustained effort and moderate weather conditions.

For intensive use, choose a stretchy, breathable fabric. For winter outings, look for a thicker construction, reinforcements in exposed areas and gaiters or lower-leg openings compatible with your footwear.

Softshell gloves

Softshell gloves are designed to protect your hands from the wind while maintaining good dexterity. They are suitable for Nordic skiing, hiking, winter trail running or activities that require precise handling of equipment.

Protection suited to dynamic activities

Softshell garments stand out for their ability to reduce the effects of wind while efficiently wicking away perspiration. Their stretchy fabric moves with you and avoids the stiff feel you can get with some more protective jackets.

Most models withstand light rain or light snowfall thanks to a water-repellent treatment. However, they do not replace a waterproof hardshell jacket in heavy precipitation or during prolonged exposure to moisture.

For ski touring, Nordic skiing or a fast ascent, choose a lightweight, highly breathable softshell. It should protect the areas exposed to the wind without trapping too much heat generated during exercise.

For cold weather and moderate activities

For winter hiking, a walk or a less intense activity, a lined or thicker softshell provides extra warmth. It can be worn on its own in dry weather or integrated into a layering system when temperatures drop.
