Salewa hiking shoes and boots: models for men and women
As every foot is different, Salewa offers men’s and women’s versions of its hiking shoes and boots. Each version benefits from a dedicated last to respect the foot shape of everyone. Salewa’s hiking range is spread over 3 categories:
- Classic hiking shoes and boots: they are perfect for short walks or day hikes.
- Trek and mountain boots: these boots are stiffer, offer better ankle support and cushioning to wear a heavy backpack for multiple days.
- Approach shoes: more technical, these models allow to tackle technical sections, even some scrambling.
The Salewa Wildfire mountain approach shoes
The Wildfire offers incredible precision for technical trails. It features Pomoca outsoles with generous lug for impeccable grip. A reinforced area at the front called climbing zone offers precision when you need to climb, as well as a generous rand. Regarding the lacing system, Salewa chose a system inspired by climbing shoes, starting close to the toes for a very precise fit. A small detail that can make a difference: a small loop on the heel to easily attach the shoes to a backpack or climbing harness with a carabiner.
The MTN Trainer Gore-Tex: an impressive hiking boot
For long multi-day hikes, Salewa offers the MTN Trainer, a reinforced backpacking boot as comfortable on the GR20 as on firn or on via ferrata ladders. The self-locking intermediate coloured hook allows to differentiate the tension of the lower and upper parts of the boots. There is adaptative foam at the heel to absorb repeated impacts. To top it all off, Salewa chose a Gore-Tex membrane to keep your feet dry even when it is raining or snowing.
