Robust and Versatile Approach Shoes

Thanks to their structure, the TX4 and its worthy successors, the TX4 Evo, allow you to explore all environments, from simple hiking trails to unmarked mountain paths where you need to be attentive to the surface underfoot. These shoes are notable for their versatility, making them suitable for via ferrata and also very easy to wear daily. With their suede upper, they demonstrate high abrasion resistance, which is an advantage in rocky areas. They are reinforced with a PU TechLite rand that strengthens them without adding extra weight. This combination ensures optimal protection, not only for the toes but for the entire foot, without compromising flexibility and comfort.

Grippy Soles

The TX4 features Vibram MegaGrip outsoles, known for their excellent grip on unstable surfaces and superior traction on slippery surfaces. They also have a climbing zone at the toe to meet the grip needs of scrambling sections, requiring good contact with the rock, where it’s sometimes necessary to use your hands to maintain balance or find a hold.

The main difference between the TX4 and TX4 Evo lies in the soles, or rather the treads. The TX4 features suction cup-like lugs, while the TX4 Evo uses the Impact Brake System, enhancing the soles' ability to provide reliable traction both uphill and downhill.

Lacing System

Like the vast majority of approach shoes, the TX4 Evo features a lacing system derived from climbing shoes. This allows the fit to be adjusted to your foot shape. This precise adjustment from the toes to the ankle ensures maximum stability and significantly contributes to overall comfort.

  • Hiking: The TX4s are ready to follow you on all types of trails, for both short and long distances. They handle dirt and rocks with ease, and their cushioning allows for long distances without discomfort. They prevent you from slipping on dry or wet surfaces and provide excellent toe protection.
  • Climbing: Although they are obviously wider than climbing shoes, the TX4 and TX4 Evo offer good grip. They are effective on easy to medium difficulty routes and their efficiency on small holds may surprise you.

  • Approach: With their excellent cushioning, the TX4 Evo is perfect for long approaches, offering comfort during walking and performance in technical sections. The grip on rock and stability in scree make them ideal on mixed terrain.
  • Via Ferrata: The La Sportiva TX4 and TX4 Evo are also suitable for via ferrata. They demonstrate exceptional grip and stability, essential for navigating cables, ladders, and rocks.

Specifications of La Sportiva TX4 Evo GTX

The TX4 Evo GTX shoes have the same qualities as the classic TX4 Evo model, with the addition of a Gore-Tex Extended Comfort membrane. This keeps your feet dry whether crossing a stream, walking in the rain, or mud. This prevents the discomfort of walking with wet feet, knowing that moisture contributes to the formation of blisters, which can be very painful in the long run. Thanks to their Gore-Tex membrane, the TX4 Evo GTX are not only waterproof but also breathable, allowing sweat to evaporate.
