This is a brand new boot in Salomon’s 2018 collection, coming with major upgrades in the construction like a new lace cover. The cosmetics was also reviewed to look more similar to the S/Lab World Cup series and we gotta admit, the boot looks amazing.
What are the specifications of the Salomon S/Race Skate Prolink cross country ski boot?
Featuring the same carbon chassis as the Pro version, focus is on steering precision. It features the Eneryzer cuff which is a standard in the industry as it has been around for the past...23 years! It may be a little heavier than current standards but it delivers a solid lateral stability along with a touch of forgiveness. That’s where the cuff really makes the difference. It forgives small mistakes and allows progression. The fore part of the boot is completely new and comes with a new lace cover that’s centered on the boot. This system was tested and proven to be efficient on the S/Lab series, it offers a wider opening and makes entries and exits easier. The liner feels very comfortable. The Quicklace system allows a quick and intuitive adjustment and it keeps the foot locked in for added control. This boot comes with the Prolink standard which is compatible with Prolink, NNN and Turnamic bindings. This allows you to use your Salomon boots on other skis. Note that this system is not compatible with SNS and SNS Pilot standards.
Who is the Salomon S/Race Skate Prolink ski boot designed for?
The boot is the perfect compromise between the RS Carbon suited most skiers and the Skate Pro Plus designed for racers. This one stands in between and combines the best of both. As comfortable as the RS Carbon, it features the chassis of the Skate Pro for added precision. It is a boot we recommend to good skiers who want to progress with a boot that can deliver more power without sacrificing hold and comfort. The cuff keeps the boot forgiving and the whole package comes at an interesting price.
