Which Faction ski should you choose for your riding style?
Your preferred terrain helps to distinguish between Faction skis: snowpark features, switching between piste and off-piste, or natural powder terrain. The Prodigy and Studio place freestyle at the heart of their design, while the Dancer range favours a directional feel. Within each family, compare the intended use and recommended ability level: not every model demands the same commitment.
Faction Prodigy and Studio: which freestyle approach?
To progress between piste and snowpark, the Prodigy 1 is an option worth looking at. The Faction Prodigy 2 offers greater versatility for varying terrain while retaining a playful character. Its 98 mm waist, double rocker and twin-tip shape support intermediate to advanced skiers who like to jump and ski switch.
The Studio 2 also makes it possible to alternate between piste, snowpark and ungroomed snow, with a 102 mm waist. If powder and jumps off natural features play a bigger role in your outings, compare the Prodigy 3 and Studio 3. The choice should take into account your technical ability as much as the terrain you want to ski.
Faction Dancer: from piste to freeride
The Dancer range covers several uses. The Dancer 79 is geared towards quick edge-to-edge transitions on groomed snow. The Faction Dancer 99 is aimed at intermediate to advanced skiers who want to alternate between piste and softer snow, with a width that promotes float.
Also check the construction: the Dancer 99 and Dancer 99 Ti do not require the same level of commitment. The first prioritises accessibility, while the titanal reinforcements in the second bring greater stability and precision for more demanding skiing.
What length should you choose for your Faction skis?
In the snowpark, the length of your skis affects their manoeuvrability in spins. In freeride, it influences stability and float. To decide between two lengths of the same Faction model, bear these priorities in mind, as well as your weight, height and technical confidence.
To refine your choice, consult our guides to choosing the length of your freestyle skis or determining the length of your freeride skis. For juniors, the Studio Grom FS and FR included in the selection offer constructions suited to smaller builds.
Which bindings for your Faction skis?
The Faction skis in this selection are sold with bindings. On each product page, check the included model and the available alternatives to find a setup that matches your riding and your boots.
Our guide to ski boot sole and binding standards helps you understand compatibility. For the Agent models also present in this listing, pay particular attention to the chosen binding type: having a ski designed for touring is not enough to make a set usable uphill.
Torn between a Prodigy, a Studio or a Dancer? The Glisshop advisers can help you compare their behaviour and choose the right length. To discover the rest of the range, you can also explore the Faction range.
To go further into the brand’s collections, also explore the older Faction Mana models and the touring skis from the former Faction La Machine range.
