Which Rossignol ski should you choose?
There are various ways to approach skiing. To choose the right pair, you just need to consider your discipline (piste, all-mountain, racing, freestyle, freeride...), your level, and your height. These elements determine the type of skis to go for. The diversity of Rossignol skis demonstrates the brand's commitment to offering products suited to every type of skier, whether beginner, intermediate or expert, piste enthusiast or freerider.
Arcade and Sender: the new releases for the 2025-2026 season
Arcade, a new level in all-mountain
The Rossignol Arcade are all-mountain skis, even more dynamic than those in the Experience range. The 84 is aimed at intermediate to expert skiers. While it excels on groomers, with good grip on hard snow, it also shows a certain agility in powder. The construction includes titanal reinforcements, ensuring rigidity, stability and responsiveness. As for the Arcade 88, this is probably the most powerful all-mountain ski from Rossignol. It promises thrills for advanced to expert skiers.
Sender, the freeride spirit
The Sender range replaces the Blackops freeride range. They offer different approaches. In the Soul version, they are oriented towards backcountry freestyle, while the Free version is for pure freeriding. There is also a freeride all-mountain version. Depending on the model, they feature titanal, Kevlar or carbon, ensuring rigidity, responsiveness and vibration absorption. They are designed for intermediate to expert skiers. They excel in powder but are also very manoeuvrable and stable on hard snow.
The Hero range: the elite of racing skis
The days of the Radical range, which made Rossignol a racing favourite, are long gone. However, the brand has not left the competition scene. In fact, it is even more impressive, with the Hero racing ski range in FIS, Master and Elite versions. It benefits from a host of technical innovations, notably the Prop Tech system, made up of a Zicral layer cut longitudinally at the front. This maximises power transfer and makes the ski easier to handle. The aim is to optimise turn initiation while providing more forgiveness.
Since 2013, the International Ski Federation (FIS) has introduced new regulations, particularly regarding the radius of skis in the Competition ranges. This is what led Rossignol to address this issue directly in its Hero Fis and Hero Master skis (the radius value is printed very visibly on the ski), and to specify the designation of the Hero Elite with the labels LT (Long Turn, for radii over 15 m) and ST (Short Turn, for radii under 15 m).
Hero Elite
While the length of the skis (and therefore their turn radius) is clearly different between an ST (short) version and an LT (long) version, the Hero Elite sidecuts vary little in general, especially at the waist, which ranges from 68 to 72 mm depending on the model. The main differences are found in the construction. While minicap sandwich structures are a constant, as well as a profile combining 90% traditional camber with a 10% tip rocker, it is in the core reinforcements that the subtle variations characterising the Elite series are found: fibreglass for the Elite LT, Elite SX and Elite ST models, carbon for the Elite SX Carbon, and finally titanium for the Elite ST-Racing, Elite LT-Racing, Elite ST-TI and Elite LT-TI models. Each material provides a specific degree of torsional resistance, which in turn affects the ski’s ability to build up power and handle the highest speeds.
Hero Fis and Master
With their waists ranging from 67 to 70 mm on adult models, and 64 to 65 mm on junior models, the FIS and Master feature a sandwich construction and a wood core with titanium reinforcement on all models, designed to withstand the extreme stresses of giant slalom courses and high-speed racing. Noteworthy is the impressive Hero FIS GS with its 35 m radius, not for everyone.
With its Hero range, Rossignol is all about high performance. These explosive skis are designed to remain manoeuvrable, even at the highest level of competition. They delight speed enthusiasts and promise more medals for the brand, whose racing reputation is already well established.
Experience all-mountain skis
Among the Rossignol all-mountain skis, those in the Experience range hold an important place. They allow you to progress confidently with the aim of exploring the entire ski area, venturing onto terrains that previously seemed out of reach. They are available in different sizes. The Experience 76 model is suitable for beginner to intermediate skiers. It offers great manoeuvrability, is easy to handle, ensuring good edge grip and ease in turns. The Experience 80 is ideal for intermediate to advanced skiers. It is responsive and stable at high speed. Perfect for progressing on groomed runs and having fun at the edge of the slopes. The 82 is ideal for intermediate to advanced skiers. It offers stability, dynamism and a comfortable glide, just as at home on groomers as between them. The 86 is also suitable for intermediate to advanced skiers. It is torsionally stiff and very stable. It offers good float in powder and dynamism on groomed snow.
Blackops, a benchark in the history of freeride
Although it has since been replaced by the Sender skis, the Blackops range left a lasting impression and delighted fans of fresh snow. Designed to deliver thrills in freeride, these models have accompanied many skiers in search of powder and freedom.
Piste skis for men and women
For those who want to hit the resort slopes, Rossignol offers several collections dedicated to alpine skiing. The Forza and Nova ranges bring together the models best suited to recreational skiing. They pair perfectly with the brand's ski boots for total comfort. Still within these two ranges, Forza and Nova, there are stiffer models that offer more dynamism and support, promising an exhilarating experience. In any case, Rossignol offers here 100% pleasure skiing.
Rossignol brand skis for children
With the Hero Pro, Experience Pro and Sender Pro ranges, children and teenagers have access to racing, all-mountain and freeride skis with which they can have fun and progress quickly. Rossignol has developed models both for beginners and for those who already have some experience. With their confidence inspiring and comfortable design, the Experience Pro and Hero Pro skis are perfect for getting started, while the Sender Pros are better suited to those who already have a good technical foundation.
What is the right ski length?
Piste ski
A recreational ski should be easy to handle, flexible and forgiving. It should measure 5 to 15 cm below your height if you want to start gently or progress optimally. The more your level improves, the smaller the gap between your height and the length of the skis. Indeed, when you are confident and able to pick up speed, you can opt for a more stable and therefore longer ski.
The sport/racing ski range itself is divided into two categories. On one side, slalom which requires skis slightly shorter than you, to link tight turns at high speed. On the other side, super G for which you need skis as long as your height, to enjoy maximum grip in turns at high speed.
Freeride ski
In freeride, you spend most of your time off-piste in untouched snow. You therefore need plenty of float to stay on the surface and a significant length: 5 to 15 cm longer than your height. Another parameter to consider: the waist width, which greatly influences skiability. A freeride ski between 90 and 100 mm underfoot remains manoeuvrable on harder snow. This is handy when the weather doesn't allow you to go off-piste, but it might be limiting in deep powder. Conversely, a ski with a width of 110 to 120 mm is much more at ease in powder for carving beautiful turns. Of course, it will not be as easy to handle on groomed runs, but that's not really where you'll be.
Freestyle ski
Freestyle skiing is divided into two main categories: Park and Backcountry. To give you the best possible guidance, Glisshop has created a complete guide to help you choose the right size for your freestyle skis.
Of course, if you need advice, Glisshop's ski experts are available. By, e-mail, phone or chat, they will be able to answer your questions and help you make your choice.
