Construction of POC ski helmets
Safety lies at the heart of POC's philosophy. To meet the needs of piste, freeride and competition skiers, the brand develops several types of construction combining low weight, strength and comfort. Each technology has been designed to enhance protection while keeping the helmet comfortable to wear throughout the day.
Aramid In-Mold construction
The Aramid In-Mold technology combines a lightweight In-Mold shell with aramid fibre reinforcements. This construction improves impact resistance without significantly increasing helmet weight, for an excellent balance of protection, low weight and comfort.
Aramid bridges
Aramid bridges strengthen the helmet's internal structure by spreading the energy of an impact over a larger surface area. This technology improves shell rigidity while preserving effective ventilation and a low overall weight.
Ventilated Double Shell Anti-Penetration (VDSAP)
The VDSAP (Ventilated Double Shell Anti-Penetration) system is based on a slightly offset double shell. This design enhances protection against heavy impacts and reduces the risk of sharp objects, such as rocks or branches, penetrating the helmet, while maintaining good airflow.
Multi-directional impact protection (MIPS)
Found on many POC models, the MIPS system adds a thin, mobile layer between the head and the shell. It is designed to reduce rotational forces generated during certain angled impacts, providing an extra level of protection.
Highly ventilated helmets
POC pays particular attention to airflow in its helmets. The ventilation systems are engineered to limit the build-up of heat and moisture while maintaining excellent protection. Some models even allow the ventilation to be adjusted according to the weather conditions.
Performance in multiple impacts
Depending on the model, POC uses EPP liners (expanded polypropylene), a material capable of retaining its properties better after multiple impacts than traditional EPS foams. A particularly suitable solution for intensive use and competition.
POC, a benchmark in competition and FIS skiing
If there is one discipline in which POC has established itself as a benchmark, it is alpine ski racing. For many years, the brand has equipped athletes performing at the highest level in World Cup events, World Championships and the Olympic Games.

When should a ski helmet be replaced?
