Bent 85, Bent Decode or Bent 90: three skis with similar widths, but different uses

Atomic Bent 85: approachable freestyle across the resort

With 85 mm underfoot, the Bent 85 is the narrowest adult ski in the range. This width makes edge-to-edge transitions on piste easier and keeps the ski nimble in the terrain park. The traditional camber underfoot provides support on hard snow, while the tip rocker helps with turn entry and pivoting in softer snow.

The wood-and-Densolite foam core keeps weight down while adding cushioning on landings. The ski still has enough pop for jumps, butters and presses. The Resist Edge Park edges reinforce the areas most exposed to repeated contact with rails and park features.

The Bent 85 is aimed at intermediate to advanced skiers who want to do some freestyle without using a ski reserved solely for the park. It can be used on groomers, side hits and in shallow fresh snow.

Atomic Bent Decode: the model most focused on the terrain park

The Bent Decode has 90 mm underfoot, but its intended use is clearly different from that of the Bent 90. Its Park Rocker 20/60/20 profile, with rocker in the tip and tail and camber underfoot, makes pivots, presses and switch skiing easier.

Its wood-and-composite construction is reinforced to withstand repeated demands in the park. The edge and core reinforcements are designed to better absorb impacts from rails, features and less-than-perfect landings.

The Bent Decode is aimed at advanced to expert skiers who spend a significant part of their day in the park. It can still be used elsewhere across the resort, but its main appeal lies in its freestyle manoeuvrability and its ability to ski both ways.

Atomic Bent 90: more geared towards all-round resort skiing

The Bent 90 keeps a 90 mm waist, but its use is less specialised than the Decode’s. It is aimed at all-mountain skiing, covering piste, piste edges, late-day soft snow and the occasional park session.

The tip rocker combined with HRZN Tech increases the contact surface at the front of the ski. This construction makes it easier to ski in shallow fresh snow and helps prevent the tip from diving. The traditional camber underfoot maintains support on hard snow and provides rebound out of turns.

The Light Woodcore combines wood and composite to keep weight in check without making the ski dead. The Dura Cap Sidewall construction adds underfoot support and protects the sidewalls. The Bent 90 is ideal for intermediate to advanced skiers who want to cover the whole resort on a lively ski.

Bent Decode or Bent 90: which should you choose at 90 mm underfoot?

The identical width should not hide the difference in intended use. The Bent Decode is the most logical choice for a skier who regularly rides rails, works on switch and strings together jump lines. Its Park Rocker profile and reinforcements are directly linked to that use.

The Bent 90 is better suited to a skier who spends time all over the resort. It retains a playful construction and can go into the park, but its front rocker, HRZN Tech and all-mountain focus make it more at home in the side-country and in transformed snow.

Bent 100, Bent 110 or Bent Chetler 120: which width for freeride?

Atomic Bent 100: the bridge between resort skiing and freeride

With 100 mm underfoot, the Bent 100 offers more float than the 85 mm and 90 mm models without becoming a ski reserved for deep-powder days. It feels at home on piste edges, in gullies, in moderate fresh snow and in chopped-up conditions.

The tip rocker and HRZN 3D technology increase the surface area at the tips and make it easier to rise to the surface. The traditional camber underfoot maintains an effective contact zone on hard snow. The Light Woodcore delivers a lively flex, while the Dura Cap Sidewall construction supports the ski at speed or when the snow gets rough.

The Bent 100 is aimed at intermediate to advanced skiers who want to vary their lines and make the most of the terrain without stepping straight up to a 110 or 120 mm ski. It is better suited to everyday use than the two wider models.

Atomic Bent 100: review

After use, the Bent 100 stands out as a versatile and particularly enjoyable ski to ride. It moves easily from one type of terrain to another and does not require you to completely change your skiing when conditions alter during the day.

This feedback confirms its central role in the range. The Bent 100 still offers enough support on groomers, remains manoeuvrable in rough snow and benefits from its 100 mm waist when the fresh snow base gets deeper. It is less specialised for big powder days than the Bent 110 and Bent Chetler 120, but easier to exploit across the whole resort.

Atomic Bent 110: more support in deep snow

The Bent 110 marks a clearer move towards freeride. Its 110 mm underfoot provide more float than the Bent 100 in deep or chopped-up snow. HRZN Tech broadens the contact surface in the tip and tail, making it easier to lift up and pivot.

The traditional camber underfoot keeps support when the snow firms up. The Light Woodcore combines wood and composite to keep weight under control while retaining responsiveness. The Dura Cap Sidewall construction supports the ski in turns and protects the sidewalls.

The Bent 110 is suitable for intermediate to advanced skiers who mainly use their skis off-piste and have the physical ability needed to control a wide ski. Compared with the Bent 100, it offers more float but is less quick from edge to edge on hard snow.

Atomic Bent Chetler 120: the dedicated model for big conditions

The Bent Chetler 120 is the widest model in the range at 120 mm underfoot. This width makes it primarily a powder ski. It is not intended for the same frequency of use as the Bent 100: its purpose becomes apparent mainly when there is enough snow to justify such a large platform.

HRZN 3D technology increases the surface area at the tips to make lifting easier. The double rocker reduces tip engagement in deep snow and helps with direction changes. The camber underfoot retains an area of support for traverses or firmer sections.

The Light Woodcore keeps weight down for a ski of this width and adds response on landings or when changing pace. The Bent Chetler 120 is aimed at advanced to expert skiers looking for a dedicated ski for deep snow and challenging freeride lines.

What is the difference between the Bent 100, the Bent 110 and the Bent Chetler 120?

The Bent 100 remains the best suited to resort skiing. Its 100 mm waist already provides plenty of float, but the ski remains easier to use on groomers and in variable snow.

The Bent 110 is aimed at skiers who genuinely prioritise off-piste. Its extra width provides more support in deep snow, at the cost of a slower edge-to-edge transition on hard snow.

The Bent Chetler 120 is a ski for big conditions. It only really comes into its own when the snow is deep enough to make proper use of its 120 mm waist. For frequent use on piste or when snowfall is inconsistent, the Bent 100 or Bent 110 will be the more sensible choice.

Atomic Bent Jr 110-130: discovering different terrains

The Bent Jr 110-130 is the narrowest junior model in the range, with 78 mm underfoot. This width makes it easy to handle on piste and requires little effort to start turns. Its All Mountain Rocker profile makes pivoting easier, while the camber underfoot preserves grip on hard snow.

What is the difference between the Bent Jr and the Bent Chetler Mini?

The Bent Jr skis are narrower and easier to use on groomed runs. Their Densolite core keeps weight low and their All Mountain Rocker profile supports progression and first ventures onto mixed terrain.

The Bent Chetler Mini skis are wider and use a Powder Rocker. Their construction combines wood and Densolite, which adds more support and liveliness in fresh snow. The Bent Chetler Mini 153-163 also adds HRZN Tech to further reinforce its freeride focus.
