Advantages of a 40-litre capacity

A 40-litre capacity offers extended volume, enabling you to carry more gear than a mid-sized pack. This storage volume promotes organised packing thanks to a generous main compartment complemented by secondary pockets and external attachment points.

This capacity allows you to pack:

  • additional layers
  • extra equipment
  • larger water or food supplies
  • technical accessories secured to the outside of the pack

Organisation and carrying comfort of a 40-litre pack

A 40L trekking backpack enables you to carry a moderate load in a stable and balanced way. The carrying systems feature structured back panels, ergonomic shoulder straps, and supportive hip belts to distribute the weight evenly between shoulders and hips.

The design of the carrying system is crucial. Most models include:

  • a structured hip belt
  • ergonomic shoulder straps
  • a reinforced or ventilated back panel
  • side compression straps
  • attachment points for external gear

An even distribution of the pack’s weight between shoulders and hips helps maintain load stability while ensuring comfortable carrying over long distances.
