Why Choose a 60-Litre Backpack?

A 60-litre hiking backpack provides enough space to carry all the essential gear for your trek, including a tent, a sleeping bag, spare clothes, food, cooking equipment, and more. Additionally, these backpacks usually boast multiple pockets and compartments, allowing you to organise your gear efficiently and access it easily. Comfort is also a key factor. 60-litre backpacks are designed with padded shoulder straps, a cushioned back panel, and adjustable hip belts to distribute weight evenly and prevent back pain.

Key Features to Consider When Choosing a 60-Litre Backpack

Several factors should be taken into account when choosing your 60-litre backpack:

  • Carrying system: It should be suited to your body shape and provide good support, particularly around the hips, as trekking backpacks are mainly carried on the hips rather than the shoulders. Opt for models with an adjustable back length and width.
  • Materials: Choose durable and waterproof materials such as ripstop nylon or polyester.
  • Features: Various features can make your backpack more practical, including side and front pockets, quick access to the bottom compartment, trekking pole attachment systems, and a built-in rain cover.
  • Weight: The weight of the empty backpack is an important factor, especially for long hikes. Prioritise lightweight models while ensuring they remain sturdy.
