ZAG, the trendy brand from Chamonix!

A key player in alpine and touring skiing since 2002, ZAG has increasingly established itself as one of the most daring ski creators of its time. And it’s no coincidence that every year passionate skiers rush to get their hands on the latest models as soon as they’re released — ZAG skis are above all known for their innovative design and outstanding performance in powder snow.

From all-mountain to freeride ...

Designed to push boundaries on snow, ZAG alpine skis combine power, precision and pure skiing pleasure. From versatile all-mountain models to freeride skis built for wide-open spaces, each pair embodies the brand’s passion for the mountains. Whether on groomed runs or in deep snow, ZAG puts its expertise at the service of performance and freedom.

Mata

The Zag MATA redefine modern all-mountain skiing with their bold asymmetric shape and ultra-dynamic behaviour. Designed for advanced to expert skiers, they deliver powerful edge grip on groomers and natural ease off-piste thanks to their double rocker and 90 mm waist. Their Heavy Duty construction, combining a poplar wood core and titanal, ensures stability, precision and energy return in every turn. Skis built for strong carving while maintaining the versatility needed to explore all terrains.

Slap

The SLAP skis embody ZAG’s playful spirit: models designed to make the most of the terrain and offer exceptional versatility. The SLAP range is aimed at intermediate to expert riders seeking skis that can match their ambitions, from powder to mixed conditions.

Lightweight and intuitive, some SLAP models can even be fitted with touring or hybrid bindings, allowing you to combine uphill and downhill adventures in the great outdoors.

Harfang

The Zag HARFANG are the brand’s most versatile all-mountain skis. From the lightweight and agile H86 for piste skiing, to the balanced H96 offering both performance and comfort, and the H106 built for powder, each model combines stability, grip and smoothness. Designed in Chamonix, they deliver complete skiing enjoyment across all terrains and conditions.

... all the way to ski touring!

Born in the Mont-Blanc massif, the ZAG touring range brings together all the expertise of the ZAGLAB to deliver ultra-light, agile and reliable skis. Whether for long ascents or challenging descents, the Ubac and Adret models offer the perfect balance between uphill efficiency and downhill control, allowing you to fully embrace the spirit of ski touring.

Ubac

The Zag UBAC are the brand’s flagship freetouring skis. Designed to combine lightness on the climb with enjoyment on the descent, they strike the perfect balance between efficiency, stability and manoeuvrability.

The Ubac 89 focuses on versatility and precision, ideal for long climbs and hard snow. The Ubac 95 represents the best balance between performance and lightness, perfect for varied outings and dynamic descents. The Ubac 102 is aimed at committed freetourers, combining float and stability across all snow types.
Finally, the Ubac 108 is built for deep powder and big turns, while maintaining impressive agility.

From sporty ski touring to the most demanding freetouring, the UBAC range allows every advanced or expert skier to find the model that best suits their style and preferred terrain.

Adret

The Zag ADRET are designed for enthusiasts of lightweight, technical ski touring. The Adret 85 stands out for its excellent weight-to-strength ratio, ideal for fast climbs and precise descents. Built around a lightweight wood core reinforced with carbon and kevlar, it combines agility, grip and efficiency. Its lightness optimises effort on the climb, while its full-length traditional camber ensures maximum edge hold on traverses.

What’s the story behind the Zag brand?

Since its creation in the heart of the Mont-Blanc massif, Zag Skis has established itself as a benchmark in freeride and all-mountain skiing. Driven by a desire to push the limits on snow, the Chamonix-based brand blends technological innovation, artisanal expertise and environmental commitment. Over the years, Zag has made its mark on modern skiing with its iconic models and technical breakthroughs. Here are the key milestones that have shaped the brand’s identity.

2002 – Bourg-Saint-Maurice: the birth of a legend

This is where it all began, when the visionary shaper behind ZAG launched the Big 84, a revolutionary ski with a rocker, designed to float through powder like a water ski. The success was immediate, and the following year the brand won an ISPO Award. Always at the forefront of innovation, ZAG continued its momentum and in 2008 unveiled its first freeride double rocker technology, the Rocker RX.

2010 – Chamonix: the freeride shift

Eight years later, ZAG moved to the Chamonix valley, a mecca for freeride skiing. This relocation marked a strategic turning point: the brand drew closer to the freeride community and opened its Pro Shop at the foot of Mont-Blanc, which quickly became a must-visit spot for snow sports enthusiasts.

2012 – The Ubac 95: the benchmark for touring skis

The year 2012 marked another success with the creation of the ZAG Ubac 95, a mid-fat, ultra-light and exceptionally manoeuvrable freetouring ski for powder. This iconic model cemented ZAG’s reputation in the world of ski touring.

2015 – Birth of the ZAGLAB: innovation made in Chamonix

With the creation of the ZAGLAB, its research and development centre, the brand reached a new milestone. It’s in this laboratory, based in Chamonix, that all skis are now conceived, tested and refined before being manufactured in Europe and Tunisia. ZAG now fully controls its entire design process and stays one step ahead of market trends.

Eco-design, performance and innovation

Now firmly established among the elite of high-end freeride skis, ZAG’s R&D and Marketing departments work hand in hand with the Be Pôles studio in Paris, which creates modern, vibrant designs for the brand. The recognition was immediate. The colour palette is lively and full of energy, and the ski graphics are now designed as matching pairs.

The well-kept secret behind these fun, modern skis? Quite simply, premium-quality skis made from top-grade materials to deliver optimal skiability and lightness, combined with a constant drive for innovation to create ever more revolutionary technologies year after year: Rocker RX, Hybrid Carbon Glass Techno, ULKC Techno, LWC Techno.

Finally, aware of the environmental challenges facing the mountain world, ZAG is fully committed to reducing its impact on our beloved playground. That’s why by 2030, the Chamonix-based company aims to cut the carbon footprint of each pair of skis by 30%. The use of bio-based or recycled materials and sourcing components from Europe are among the brand’s current and future initiatives.
