Description

The women's Axess 90 W touring ski from Movement benefits from a paulownia core and its dual-axis carbon construction. They give it a good balance between lightness on the ascent and solid behavior on the descent, and this, on all types of snow.

What is the program of the Movement Axess 90 W ski?

With 90 mm at the base, it floats correctly in light powder and keeps a frank grip on hard snow. The double rocker facilitates pivoting and lightens the ride, whatever the surface. The classic camber contributes to greater precision and favors recovery from turns. Designed for all-day touring, this Movement ski is lighter than a freerando ski.

Who is the Movement Axess 90 W ski designed for?

It's perfect for intermediate to advanced skiers who are technically at ease and want to alternate between ascents in skins and descents in light powder.

What are the main qualities of the Movement Axess 90 W ski?

Lightness

Polyvalence

Maneuverability

Does the classic camber hinder touring maneuverability?

No. Combined with the double rocker, the classic camber provides grip and relaunch on the descent, without weighing down the ride. The rocker in the tip and tail takes over to make pivoting easier.

Is the Movement Axess 90 W stable on hard or icy snow?

Yes. The classic camber maintains ski-snow contact on the edge and ensures a firm grip on hard snow. Dual-axis carbon technology enhances torsional rigidity and stabilizes the ski on the descent.

Does this ski perform in powder?

Yes. The double rocker helps lift off the ground and stay maneuverable as the snow thickens. It's not designed for deep powder, but performs well in slope-side fluff and the looser slopes of day hikes.

Does the flat heel have an impact on the ride?

Yes. The flat heel maintains edge contact all the way to the tip of the ski, making for a more precise and responsive ride out of turns. This choice favors downhill performance.

Tips and advice

After using our calculator, you can explore further with our guides (depending on your skiing style):

And to see the method in action, here’s our video tutorial (example focused on piste / all-mountain skiing, with useful benchmarks whatever your style).

At glisshop.co.uk, you’ll find one of the most comprehensive ski selections available online. To choose the right pair, start with three simple criteria: your ability level, your preferred terrain (piste, all-mountain, freeride, freestyle, touring), and your budget.

To refine your selection, several options are available:

  1. The advanced search tool: located at the top of each category page, it allows you to filter by brand, skill level, discipline, and more. By combining these filters, you can quickly narrow down the range and easily find the models best suited to your skiing style.

  2. Contact us on 020 3129 3301: a pair of skis is a technical piece of equipment. Before placing your order, it’s best to make sure the model truly meets your expectations. Our team is here to advise you.

To go further and understand the differences between ski types, take a look at our comprehensive guide 'Which skis to choose?'.

During the process or your order, we'll ask you to complete a form about the mounting of your bindings. With these details, we will be able to mount the bindings with the correct settings. The release value of the bindings is set by a professional skiman, and according to the norm AFNOR FD S 52-748.

If you don't have your own ski boots when you order, the bindings will be pre-mounted. The final settings can be done :

- by a shop if you are renting your ski boots

- by our skiman : you can call us for any technical questions. Our skiman will do the final settings for you. Telephone : 020 3129 3301

All skis you purchase on our website are factory-waxed and tuned. This means they are ready to hit the slopes. However, gear tends to wear and in order to keep it in its best shape, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.

Maintaining your skis is essential for a smooth glide and a solit grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your skis, or on how damaged they are. We recommend you to wax them every 10 riding days and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't overdo it. Tuning is basically scraping off material. If you do it too often, the edges will vanish after some time.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge sharpeners, etc. You can find them on our website.

All products benefit from a manufacturer guarantee, as long as the damage is caused by a manufacturing defect (may it be hidden or obvious).

Usually, the manufacturer guarantee lasts two years.

Only the manufacturer is able to decide if there has been a 'manufacturing defect' or a 'misuse'. Glisshop is only an intermediary between you and the manufacturer.

The manufacturer's guarantee will not apply if the problem comes from a misuse.
