Description

When a giant like Salomon works for years with all of its R&D labs focused on a new product, you know you can expect something big. Well, time has come for the release. Have a look at the new MTN series incorporating high-end touring skis boasting unparalleled performance. The battle for the peaks has just begun...

What can the Salomon MTN Explore 95 do?

The Explore 95 is the widest ski of Salomon’s new lineup. It features sidecuts that freetourers are going to like. Weighing only 1400g per ski in 177cm and boasting a 95mm waist, the ski is born to perform. It offers easy and effortless ascents with wonderful dowhill performance. With sidecuts mirroring some of the best freeride skis, there is nothing that can stop it from shredding. Its rockered tip provides tons of floatation and manoeuverability while its light construction makes the ski responsive and easy. It excels on powder, works well on crud and chopped up snow and holds its own on groomers. What else could you ask for? The Explore 95 is a great ski suited for discovering the mountain from its wildest side. Get your probe, your shovel and your transceiver on, the ski will take care of the rest.

Who is the Salomon MTN Explore 95 designed for?

We recommend the ski to all free tourers with an advanced or expert level, looking for an ultra-light fat ski that makes climbing a breeze and skiing a blast. Highly recommended!

Tips and advice

On glisshop.co.uk, you may feel overwhelmed by the amount of products we sell. How can you find the right skis, which ones can suit your level, your style or your budget?

Your options:

1. The advanced search engine: You'll find it everywhere on our website, as a sidebar on our listing pages. It allows you to select conditions and refine your selection: brand, level, style, etc. When you select them, only the relevant products will show.

2. You can contact us on the 020 3129 3301: skis feature fine technologies and affect your safety. It is important to make sure that the skis you've selected will suit you. Call our landline and get in touch with our team for any questions regarding these products.

During the process or your order, we'll ask you to complete a form about the mounting of your bindings. With these details, we will be able to mount the bindings with the correct settings. The release value of the bindings is set by a professional skiman, and according to the norm AFNOR FD S 52-748.

If you don't have your own ski boots when you order, the bindings will be pre-mounted. The final settings can be done :

- by a shop if you are renting your ski boots

- by our skiman : you can call us for any technical questions. Our skiman will do the final settings for you. Telephone : 020 3129 3301

All skis you purchase on our website are factory-waxed and tuned. This means they are ready to hit the slopes. However, gear tends to wear and in order to keep it in its best shape, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.

Maintaining your skis is essential for a smooth glide and a solit grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your skis, or on how damaged they are. We recommend you to wax them every 10 riding days and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't overdo it. Tuning is basically scraping off material. If you do it too often, the edges will vanish after some time.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge sharpeners, etc. You can find them on our website.

All products benefit from a manufacturer guarantee, as long as the damage is caused by a manufacturing defect (may it be hidden or obvious).

Usually, the manufacturer guarantee lasts two years.

Only the manufacturer is able to decide if there has been a 'manufacturing defect' or a 'misuse'. Glisshop is only an intermediary between you and the manufacturer.

The manufacturer's guarantee will not apply if the problem comes from a misuse.
