General Presentation of Julbo Edge Sunglasses

Julbo Edge sunglasses are characterised by a light and streamlined frame that maximizes your field of vision and ensures a panoramic vision. They are specially adapted for cyclists thanks to their unmatched visual clarity and how easy it is to swap lenses. There is also an efficient ventilation system that guarantees excellent air circulation to limit fogging.

They are also available with Reactiv Photochromic lenses, offering optimal adaptation to light intensity. These glasses are available in a vast array of colours to match your preferences or your type of activity.

They can be perfectly adjusted to the vision with the ‘opticlip’ optical clip and have straight, anti-slip curved temples for good stability. Finally, thanks to well-chosen materials, their weight of only 25 g makes these glasses extremely comfortable to wear, even during long sessions of physical activity.

What Lenses Are Available on the Edge?

Julbo Edge lenses boasting Reactiv Photochromic technology offer variable light transmission depending on the category you choose. They automatically adapt to ambient conditions, guaranteeing optimal vision at all times.

While the Spectron lenses have a fixed category that provides protection and suitable vision when the weather is stay the same. The models with Spectron lenses also have the advantage of being more affordable!

High Contrast Technology

Some models of Julbo Edge lenses feature High Contrast technology. This technology offers an improved perception of contrasts, for even more precise vision of the terrain and obstacles.

How to Choose Your Lenses: Spectron 3 or Reactiv?

The choice between Spectron 3 and Reactiv lenses mainly depends on your needs and the environment.

Spectron 3 lenses are made of polycarbonate, making them light and resistant to shocks. They are suitable for all outdoor sports activities, as well as driving. Their tint is not extremely dark, making them versatile.

On the other hand, Reactiv Performance lenses are photochromic, meaning they adapt to light intensity. These lenses darken and lighten according to ambient light, offering precise vision under all conditions. They are especially recommended for athletes experiencing variable light conditions.

To make your choice between these two types of lenses, you should consider:

Your discipline: some sports require better contrast perception or quick adaptation to brightness.
Your personal preferences: some users prefer a fixed tint, while others appreciate the flexibility of photochromic lenses.
The cost: Reactiv lenses are generally more expensive than Spectron 3 lenses due to their more advanced technology.

Focus on the Reactiv Performance 0-3 Photochromic Lens

The Reactiv Performance 0-3 photochromic lens of the Julbo Edge glasses is a technological gem. Offering a visible light transmission (TLV) ranging from 8% to 85%, this cylindrical lens transitions from category 0 to 3 to instantly adapt to the light intensity of your environment. It is a valuable ally in changing light conditions, such as during a mountain bike ride in the forest or for early or late-day rides.

Optimal Use for Mountain Biking

For optimal use in mountain biking, the Julbo Edge glasses offer several key features. Their light and aerodynamic design allows for maximized field of view and extra-wide vision, essential for navigating the varied terrains of mountain biking. The Reactiv Performance lenses adapt to fluctuations in brightness, which is especially useful in forests or on partly cloudy days.

Thanks to the exclusive magnetic MagneFix technology integrated into the frame, changing lenses is quick and easy in case of unsettled conditions. The lenses of these glasses also feature an exceptional anti-fog coating to resist condensation and repel water, two crucial aspects for mountain biking.

The thin and flexible temples, combined with the 3D Fit Nose, ensure a precise fit and impeccable stability, even during technical descents or abrupt movements. In addition, they are compatible with wearing a helmet.

Finally, the extended coverage of the Julbo Edge frame protects your eyes from UV rays, wind, and debris, thus providing optimal protection during your mountain bike ride.

Here are some recommendations for optimal use of your mountain bike sunglasses:

Ensure the glasses are well adjusted to your face to maximise protection and comfort.
Use the ‘opticlip’ optical clip if you need visual correction.
Change lenses according to light conditions with the MagneFix system.
Regularly clean your lenses to maintain clear vision.
