Merrell designed this shoe range performance on race days. All models generally share the same construction base and mould, such as a 6 mm drop and generous 5 mm lugs, but each model has its own unique features.
The MTL Skyfire RD for Race Day is the most accessible shoe in the range. It features a reduced heel and a 6 mm drop to enhance forefoot striking. It is also equipped with a reinforcement plate in the midsole for added torsional stability on technical sections. Its grip is guaranteed by a Merrell Quantum Grip outsole equipped with serious lugs, providing traction on both dry and muddy terrains. All this at a weight of about 250 grams per shoe.
Brighter and bolder, the MTL Skyfire OCR Tough Viking gives you the impression of running with shoes made of fire, even at night, as this special finish is reflective in low light! In terms of construction, it features all the elements that make the MTL Skyfire a success, like an ultra-breathable mesh lining without a membrane for instant sweat evaporation. It also includes a protective plate integrated into the inner sole for precise support on difficult terrains, impeccable Quantum grip, and an external strap that securely holds the heel in place. All this at an approximate weight of 240g.
