Alpine Ski Armada JJ 2.0

Ski sold without binding.

Armada make a resurgence this season with the JJ 2.0 ski, a fat ski with a 117mm waist for 185cm blades and a massive dual rocker. No need to be a scientist to understand that this rocket is ready to be launched to smash powder. The JJ 2.0 doesn’t glide, it levitates in deep and rebounds on the surface like a surf. Just nuts!

What can the Armada JJ 2.0 ski do?

There might not be too many big powder days in Europe every year, but once you get a big dump, take out the JJ 2.0 and rock the house. The miracle happens on the spot and you can charge hard and fast down the hill without even touching the ground. This big mountain ski provides an incredible handiness thanks to its 17m radius, really good for a super fat ski to be creative and playful in backcountry in the middle of the trees or to drop cliffs and pillows.  The JJ 2.0 offers a classic camber underfoot to get back on the slopes on the bottom of the hill, take the gondy and go back up to shred some more.

Who is the  Armada JJ 2.0 ski designed for?

With this stunning freeride ski, Armada yearn to do the best skis on the planet. Little advice: if you want to tame the beast, you will need rock solid thighs to push on the blade and show it who’s the master. The most athletic riders could even mount touring bindings on it to do nice approaches and seek the most remote spots on the mountain. Only for short approaches, you will need great skills to lead the way or do conversions with skis that wide.

What are the main assets of the  Armada JJ 2.0 ski?

Buoyancy in deep

Manufacturer info :

Type of turns

  • Multi-turns

  • Bidirectional (twin tip)  :

The ski shape allows to ski forward or backward.

Structure - Construction

  • AR50 Sidewalls  :

ABS sidewall meets cap construction – the best of both worlds. This engineering method combines the lightweight cap construction in the tip and tail with ABS sidewall underfoot, resulting in enhanced edgehold and significantly lower swing and overall weight.

  • Ultralight Core  :

A combination of lightweight woods throughout and hardwood laminates underfoot, the Hybrid Ultra-lite Core created the ultimate in agility and maneuverability without sacrificing any security or dampness underfoot.

  • Laminate matrix  :

We know from the core out exactly how each ski should react, so three kinds of fiberglass laminates are used in combination to deliver the exact amount of flex and torsional rigidity. Bi-axial fiberglass runs in an “x” pattern down the ski to control lateral flex. Uni-directional fiberglass controls flex along the length of the ski. And tri-axial fiberglass, with fibers running in three directions, beefs up the center of the ski. The permutations of the three fiberglasses are nearly limitless and allow us to precision tune the performance of every ski we make.

Camber type

  • Classic camber  :

When the ski sits flat on the ground, the tip and the tail are in contact with it while the midsection rises above. It is this section that maximises the energy transmission towards the edge, ideal for piste skiing. It also provides a rebound which enhances energy return and pop.

  • EST Freeride Rocker  :

Rockered tip and tail combined to a positive camber under the foot for a better floatation on soft snow and a better edge hold.

Rocker type

  • Tip and tail rocker  :

Full length rocker perfect for surfing powder. It floats easily and ensures smooth and effortless turns. Landings are easier too.

  • 1.7 impact edge  :

The edge height and width is deliberately smaller and the steel is heat-treated to a proprietary hardness to increase durability and decrease weight

  • Comp Series Base  :

A World Cup-inspired base that requires higher maintenance than the S7, the Comp Series pays for the extra TLC it requires in one way: Speed.
