The Austrian ski brand Blizzard was founded by Toni Arnsteiner in 1953 in Mittersill. Eight years earlier, he had made his first pair of skis for personal use in his father's carpentry workshop. In 1980, Blizzard revolutionised the ski world with its new Thermo model, which adapts to temperature. More than 40 years later, Blizzard has established itself as a benchmark in skiing and ski touring with models whose reputations are well-established.
