In the 2017 Movement ski touring serie, here comes the Apex and its 94mm waist. Ultra light ski thanks to its karuba core, its offers a tip and tail rocker to turn effortlessly and intuitively. The Apex keeps a classic camber underfoot to deliver a great grip on the slopes and grips on the steepest terrains especially during conversations going uphill.

What can the Movement Apex ski do?

The modern construction allows it to be super versatile. On one side you can attack on groomers and ride nice turns at moderate speed. Its 94mm waist allows quick edge to edge transitions and a good accuracy. On the other side, it is so light that it is definitely made to go out of the beaten path, skin up and hike up the hill to chase the virgin faces. Ok it is not as fast as the chairlift but what a pleasure to arrive on the top on your own, with no one else than your buddies and ride beautiful lines in powder-filled steeps. Enjoy the wonderful landscapes that not too many riders have the chance to see. With its big tip rocker and its lifting surface it floats itself in deep and turns effortlessly. Manufacturer info :

Type of turns

  • Multi-turns

  • Directional (front tip)  :

The ski shape allows only a directional use.

Structure - Construction

  • CTS Light  :

The new 3D light cap ABS sidewall is unique in the way that the ABS runs through to the wood core of the ski and works also as a form of reinforcement. This system also offers a weight gain over the classic CTS which why it is integrated in to the Free Touring and Freeride ranges.

  • Double Plate Reinforcement  :

Movement has developed a system using 2 pre-treated fiber gass plates of differing sizes on top of each other inserted in to the binding zones to improve the flex of the skis, but also to improve the hold of the binding itself

  • Dynamic Light Tri-Axial + Carbon  :

This structure delivers a stiff flex and resists to torsion. It is lighter than the standard tri-axial. The addition of carbon makes the ski even more reactive.

  • MLTech Construction  :

    Monocoque construction.

  • VA-TECH  :

The VATECH system is a layer of vibration-dampening rubber inserted under the binding, for better edge grip and a smoother ride. The NOSE VATECH system replaces the ABS plate on skis with a tip wider than 135 mm. This rubber layer smoothes the ride and dampens vibration of extra-wide tips.

  • Karuba Core  :

Wood is alive, strong and resilient, and guarantees the ski’s continued resilience and longevity. MOVEMENT skis use only PURE wood cores; no synthetic or composite synthetic/wood cores (wood with injected foam) – (except kids skis). These cores are shaped from the most select materials, and are very accurately calibrated for the optimum result. We certify that the origin of our wood cores are FSC or PEFC. We have eliminated in our wood core assembly process the use of toxic adhesives.

    Karuba wood Core, very light.

Camber type

  • Classic camber  :

When the ski sits flat on the ground, the tip and the tail are in contact with it while the midsection rises above. It is this section that maximises the energy transmission towards the edge, ideal for piste skiing. It also provides a rebound which enhances energy return and pop.

Rocker type

  • Tip and tail rocker  :

Full length rocker perfect for surfing powder. It floats easily and ensures smooth and effortless turns. Landings are easier too.

  • P-Tex base 4000 1.3mm  :

High density base for a better performance and a longer lasting base.
