Alpine Ski Movement Apex

Ski sold without binding.

The Apex is a super versatile touring ski with a 94mm waist from Movement. This year it returns with orange graphics, quite unusual for the brand, but we gotta admit it looks nice! Still endowed with a double rocker for optimal manoeuvrability in all-mountain use the 2018 Apex is reinforced with carbon fibers. This ski is stiff underfoot to provide a great grip on hard snow.

What can the Movement Apex touring ski do?

Even if this model has been designed for an mountaineering purpose, you can bring the Apex ski with you during all of your ski sessions. Its traditional camber offers a solid grip to to make technical passages easier and for more enjoyable descents. And it’s precisely at going downhill that the ski excels! Whatever is the terrain you choose to assault, this ski can handle any snow conditions and get you out of every difficult situation. For example if you face crud snow you can bust through it with the Apex until you reach fresh snow. If you ride on pow, the combination of its double rocker with the 94mm wide waist provides an incredible planing ability. Plus, the carbon stringers are really efficient. They bring precision to your turns and enhance rebounds and accelarations.

Who is the Movement Apex touring ski designed for?

This ski is designed for advanced adventurers that are looking for a do-it-all ski! This model is super versatile, it is lightweight enough to allow you great tours when the snow conditions are great but that can also handle pistes the rest of the time.

  • ASA
  • CTS Light  :

The new 3D light cap ABS sidewall is unique in the way that the ABS runs through to the wood core of the ski and works also as a form of reinforcement. This system also offers a weight gain over the classic CTS which why it is integrated in to the Free Touring and Freeride ranges.

  • Double Plate Reinforcement  :

Movement has developed a system using 2 pre-treated fiber gass plates of differing sizes on top of each other inserted in to the binding zones to improve the flex of the skis, but also to improve the hold of the binding itself

  • Dynamic Tri-Axial Fiber  :

This structure provides stiff flex and resists to torsion.

  • Poplar Core  :

Wood is alive, strong and resilient, and guarantees the ski’s continued resilience and longevity. MOVEMENT skis use only PURE wood cores; no synthetic or composite synthetic/wood cores (wood with injected foam) – (except kids skis). These cores are shaped from the most select materials, and are very accurately calibrated for the optimum result. We certify that the origin of our wood cores are FSC or PEFC. We have eliminated in our wood core assembly process the use of toxic adhesives.

    Poplar core

  • VA-TECH  :

The VATECH system is a layer of vibration-dampening rubber inserted under the binding, for better edge grip and a smoother ride. The NOSE VATECH system replaces the ABS plate on skis with a tip wider than 135 mm. This rubber layer smoothes the ride and dampens vibration of extra-wide tips.

  • Carbon 2-Axis  :

This reduces weight and increases performance in difficult snow conditions. partial torsion-resistant and perfect comfort in general.

  • P-Tex base 4000 1.3mm  :

High density base for a better performance and a longer lasting base.
