Obex Mips and Obex BC Mips: two approaches depending on the terrain

The Obex Mips is designed for all-round use in both skiing and snowboarding. Its construction combines an EPS liner with a polycarbonate shell complemented by an ABS upper section. The Mips system helps protect against impacts involving rotational movement. POC rounds off the package with a 360° adjustment system and adjustable ventilation, allowing airflow to be adapted to the conditions.

The Obex BC Mips stands out above all for features linked to a more backcountry-focused style of riding. The RECCO® reflector helps rescue teams equipped with compatible detectors locate the skier, while the NFC Twiceme® medical ID makes certain emergency information accessible. Aramid panels also reinforce specific areas of the helmet. The Obex BC Mips is therefore particularly well suited to skiers and snowboarders who regularly go out of bounds.

Obex Contour Mips or Contour Communication: with or without JBL audio?

The Obex Contour Mips models are based on an In-Mold construction combined with an EPS liner and the Mips system. Fit is adjusted using a 360° dial and an adjustable chin strap. Channels provide passive ventilation, while the ear pads can be removed. The helmet also features a goggle clip to keep the goggles in place and a front system designed to help disperse goggle fog.

The Obex Contour Communication uses the same technical platform and differs mainly through its included JBL audio system, which can be accessed directly via the ear pads. Both models meet EN 1077:2007 class B and ASTM F2040-18 standards. The choice is therefore particularly straightforward: the Contour Mips retains the essential features of this construction, while the Contour Communication adds built-in audio.

Obex Mips Connect: communication and off-piste-oriented features

The Obex Mips Connect follows a different logic from the Contour Communication. It combines the communication functions of the Connect system with several features also found on the Obex BC Mips, notably the RECCO® reflector and the NFC Twiceme® medical ID. This combination makes it especially suitable for users who want to stay in touch with their group while retaining features designed for backcountry outings.

POCito Obex Mips: the version designed for children

The POCito Obex Mips is not simply an adult Obex offered in a smaller size. This helmet for young skiers and snowboarders combines an In-Mold construction, an EPS liner, the Mips system and 360° adjustment. Its ventilation relies on channels running through the helmet from front to back.

POC completes this construction with a RECCO® reflector and reflective elements intended to improve visibility. The POCito Obex Mips is a model specifically designed for children.
