Touring skis Tracer 118

The Tracer 118 is the broadest model in Armada's freerando line, offering a dantesque flotation while taking advantage of the formidable power-to-weight ratio offered by its high-end construction. It features a caruba wood and poplar shell, reinforced with fiberglass for flex control, a mesh weave to absorb vibration and a titanium plate at the bindings to prevent tearing.

What is the programme of the Armada Tracer 118 ski?

With its 118 mm wide waist width, the Tracer 118 is a ski designed for deep powder. Its flotation knows no limits, and its construction allows it to remain light despite its volume. Only 1,875 grams per slat in a 180 size. Its EAST Freeride Rocker profile and progressive flex from nose to tail offer good skiability and control on the slopes. The front rocker with a front spatula combined with a softer flex provides a good edge, smoothes out uneven terrain and makes it easier to enter curves. The classic underfoot camber and long curve radius provide grip and stability, while the flat heel with a firmer flex provides precision and control at the end of the curve. Perfect in powder but also effective in mixed snow, while remaining light and maneuverable at all times, this is truly a stunning ski on a freerando program.

How to choose the length of your skis?

How to choose the size of your piste and all-mountain skis?

What kind of skis should I buy ?

On glisshop.co.uk, you may feel overwhelmed by the amount of products we sell. How can you find the right skis, which ones can suit your level, your style or your budget?

Your options:

1. The advanced search engine: You'll find it everywhere on our website, as a sidebar on our listing pages. It allows you to select conditions and refine your selection: brand, level, style, etc. When you select them, only the relevant products will show.

2. You can contact us on the 020 3129 3301: skis feature fine technologies and affect your safety. It is important to make sure that the skis you've selected will suit you. Call our landline and get in touch with our team for any questions regarding these products.

Do you fit the bindings on skis?

During the process or your order, we'll ask you to complete a form about the mounting of your bindings. With these details, we will be able to mount the bindings with the correct settings. The release value of the bindings is set by a professional skiman, and according to the norm AFNOR FD S 52-748.

If you don't have your own ski boots when you order, the bindings will be pre-mounted. The final settings can be done :

- by a shop if you are renting your ski boots

Are the skis ready to use?

All skis you purchase on our website are factory-waxed and tuned. This means they are ready to hit the slopes. However, gear tends to wear and in order to keep it in its best shape, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.

Maintaining your skis is essential for a smooth glide and a solit grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your skis, or on how damaged they are. We recommend you to wax them every 10 riding days and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't overdo it. Tuning is basically scraping off material. If you do it too often, the edges will vanish after some time.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge sharpeners, etc. You can find them on our website.

Is the equipment under guarantee?

All products benefit from a manufacturer guarantee, as long as the damage is caused by a manufacturing defect (may it be hidden or obvious).

Usually, the manufacturer guarantee lasts two years.

Only the manufacturer is able to decide if there has been a 'manufacturing defect' or a 'misuse'. Glisshop is only an intermediary between you and the manufacturer.

The manufacturer's guarantee will not apply if the problem comes from a misuse.
