Description

The Whitewalker is none other than the pro-model of the American freeskier Sammy Carlson. Sammy sends very big level tricks and is used to ride in backcountry and in big snow conditions. It is in order to continue pushing the limits that Armada has developed this superb Whitewalker for him.

What is the programme of the Armada Whitewalker ski?

The Whitewalker is a backcountry freestyle ski, with a fairly large volume since it has a waist width length of 116 mm and an even larger waist width length. It's a ski that's very stable enabling you to take it easy when you're charging down big runs and breaking pillows, but it's still playful and ultra-maneuverable for drawing backcountry lines. For this, it requires a fairly contained weight and Armada has chosen to use caruba wood, which allows a ski of only 1,800 grams per slat (in size 185). For greater manoeuvrability, there is the AR Freestyle Rocker profile, a big double rocker that ensures very fast pivoting and therefore allows you to turn short at the last moment. Finally, the tip also benefits from a Smear Tech technology, a bevelled edge shape that provides even more flotation and playability.

Who is the Armada Whitewalker ski for?

This model is designed for experienced to expert freeskiers looking for a ski that is both powerful and playful, with which they can take full advantage of the beautiful snow conditions, ski hard and send out in the freestyle backcountry.

What are the main qualities of the Armada Whitewalker ski?

Tips and advice

On glisshop.co.uk, you may feel overwhelmed by the amount of products we sell. How can you find the right skis, which ones can suit your level, your style or your budget?

Your options:

1. The advanced search engine: You'll find it everywhere on our website, as a sidebar on our listing pages. It allows you to select conditions and refine your selection: brand, level, style, etc. When you select them, only the relevant products will show.

2. You can contact us on the 020 3129 3301: skis feature fine technologies and affect your safety. It is important to make sure that the skis you've selected will suit you. Call our landline and get in touch with our team for any questions regarding these products.

During the process or your order, we'll ask you to complete a form about the mounting of your bindings. With these details, we will be able to mount the bindings with the correct settings. The release value of the bindings is set by a professional skiman, and according to the norm AFNOR FD S 52-748.

If you don't have your own ski boots when you order, the bindings will be pre-mounted. The final settings can be done :

- by a shop if you are renting your ski boots

- by our skiman : you can call us for any technical questions. Our skiman will do the final settings for you. Telephone : 020 3129 3301

All skis you purchase on our website are factory-waxed and tuned. This means they are ready to hit the slopes. However, gear tends to wear and in order to keep it in its best shape, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.

Maintaining your skis is essential for a smooth glide and a solit grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your skis, or on how damaged they are. We recommend you to wax them every 10 riding days and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't overdo it. Tuning is basically scraping off material. If you do it too often, the edges will vanish after some time.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge sharpeners, etc. You can find them on our website.

All products benefit from a manufacturer guarantee, as long as the damage is caused by a manufacturing defect (may it be hidden or obvious).

Usually, the manufacturer guarantee lasts two years.

Only the manufacturer is able to decide if there has been a 'manufacturing defect' or a 'misuse'. Glisshop is only an intermediary between you and the manufacturer.

The manufacturer's guarantee will not apply if the problem comes from a misuse.
