Description

The Atomic Volant 5000 Pt is a performance piste ski designed for stringing together fast turns on groomed snow, with precise handling and a crisp acceleration out of turns.

What is the Atomic Volant 5000 Pt designed for?

With a 70 mm waist width, it’s designed for performance on groomed slopes and hard snow. Its classic camber maintains continuous edge-to-snow contact to enhance grip and precision. The Double Steel Powered construction provides stiffness and stability as the pace picks up. The Power Woodcore maintains rebound during edge-to-edge transitions.

Who is the Atomic Volant 5000 Pt ski designed for?

This ski is designed for intermediate to advanced skiers who are already technically comfortable and want to improve their on-piste skills with a precise, responsive model that’s more accessible than the racing versions of the Volant line.

What are the main qualities of the Atomic Volant 5000 Pt ski?

Grip

Does the Volant 5000 Pt perform well on hard snow?

Yes. The classic camber, Full Sidewall construction, and performance-oriented edge angles provide crisp grip on firm slopes.

Is the Volant 5000 Pt maneuverable in short turns?

Yes, its versatile turn radius allows for varied turn sequences without limiting you to a single type of turn. However, it remains more responsive than a recreational on-piste ski.

Is the Volant 5000 Pt stable when accelerating?

Yes. The Power Woodcore and Double Steel Powered construction provide support underfoot, ensuring a stable ride on groomed snow.

What’s the difference between the Volant 5000 Pt and the Volant 7000 Pt?

The Volant 5000 Pt is the most accessible model in the lineup, offering precise handling that’s easier to master. The Volant 7000 Pt takes stability, stiffness, and high-speed responsiveness to the next level.

Tips and advice

After using our calculator, you can explore further with our guides (depending on your skiing style):

And to see the method in action, here’s our video tutorial (example focused on piste / all-mountain skiing, with useful benchmarks whatever your style).

At glisshop.co.uk, you’ll find one of the most comprehensive ski selections available online. To choose the right pair, start with three simple criteria: your ability level, your preferred terrain (piste, all-mountain, freeride, freestyle, touring), and your budget.

To refine your selection, several options are available:

  1. The advanced search tool: located at the top of each category page, it allows you to filter by brand, skill level, discipline, and more. By combining these filters, you can quickly narrow down the range and easily find the models best suited to your skiing style.

  2. Contact us on 020 3129 3301: a pair of skis is a technical piece of equipment. Before placing your order, it’s best to make sure the model truly meets your expectations. Our team is here to advise you.

To go further and understand the differences between ski types, take a look at our comprehensive guide 'Which skis to choose?'.

During the process or your order, we'll ask you to complete a form about the mounting of your bindings. With these details, we will be able to mount the bindings with the correct settings. The release value of the bindings is set by a professional skiman, and according to the norm AFNOR FD S 52-748.

If you don't have your own ski boots when you order, the bindings will be pre-mounted. The final settings can be done :

- by a shop if you are renting your ski boots

- by our skiman : you can call us for any technical questions. Our skiman will do the final settings for you. Telephone : 020 3129 3301

All skis you purchase on our website are factory-waxed and tuned. This means they are ready to hit the slopes. However, gear tends to wear and in order to keep it in its best shape, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.

Maintaining your skis is essential for a smooth glide and a solit grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your skis, or on how damaged they are. We recommend you to wax them every 10 riding days and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't overdo it. Tuning is basically scraping off material. If you do it too often, the edges will vanish after some time.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge sharpeners, etc. You can find them on our website.

All products benefit from a manufacturer guarantee, as long as the damage is caused by a manufacturing defect (may it be hidden or obvious).

Usually, the manufacturer guarantee lasts two years.

Only the manufacturer is able to decide if there has been a 'manufacturing defect' or a 'misuse'. Glisshop is only an intermediary between you and the manufacturer.

The manufacturer's guarantee will not apply if the problem comes from a misuse.

Setting the release value of your bindings is a major safety issue.

In order to fully function and ensure safety, your bindings need to be set according to the Afnor FD S 52-748 standard. We wrote down a guide to help you find out the release value matching your needs.

When buying a pair of skis, you will have to complete a form asking for your measurements. Please complete it with the most accurate information: it will allow our technicians to adjust precisely your bindings and lower down the risk of injury.
