Product description — Supershape Jrs (130-160)

The larger-size version of the Supershape Jrs, the Head Supershape Jrs ski (130–160) features the Power Sidewall Jacket construction with a composite wood core and the ERA 2.0 platform, delivering a junior race piste ski designed to link carved turns on groomed snow with precision and rebound.

What is the intended use of the Head Supershape Jrs ski (130–160)?

With a 68 mm waist and a short turning radius, this ski is built for slalom and tight turns on firm snow. The traditional camber ensures solid edge contact and instant energy return at the end of each turn. The Power Sidewall Jacket construction absorbs mechanical stresses while maintaining a lively flex. The Structured UHM C base uses the same material as Head’s adult race skis.

Who is the Head Supershape Jrs ski (130–160) designed for?

This ski is aimed at young intermediate to advanced skiers seeking a sporty, high-performance piste ski. Available in lengths from 130 to 160 cm, it suits taller or heavier juniors who need longer sizes than those offered in the 110–120 cm range.

What are the strengths of the Head Supershape Jrs ski (130–160)?

Precision

Rebound

Stability

Is the Supershape Jrs (130–160) suitable for junior racing?

Yes. Its race-oriented design, short radius, and traditional camber make it ideal for slalom training and junior races.

Does the Supershape Jrs (130–160) grip well on icy snow?

Yes. The traditional camber maintains consistent edge-to-snow contact along the full length of the ski, providing direct edge hold even on hard-packed or icy surfaces.

Is the Supershape Jrs (130–160) stiff for a junior ski?

It’s a junior race ski: stiffer than a recreational model, but the composite wood core balances the flex to remain manageable for technically skilled young skiers.

What is the difference between the Supershape Jrs (130–160) and the Supershape Team Easy Jrs (127–157)?

The Supershape Jrs is a junior race ski with a composite wood core and Power Sidewall Jacket construction, engineered for performance on firm pistes. The Team Easy Jrs is a recreational ski with a composite core, Jr. Power Frame construction, and a tip rocker, designed for progression and turn initiation. Two distinct designs for two different junior skier profiles.

Tips and advice

How to choose the length of your skis?

After using our calculator, you can explore further with our guides (depending on your skiing style):

And to see the method in action, here’s our video tutorial (example focused on piste / all-mountain skiing, with useful benchmarks whatever your style).

How to choose the size of your piste and all-mountain skis?

At glisshop.co.uk, you’ll find one of the most comprehensive ski selections available online. To choose the right pair, start with three simple criteria: your ability level, your preferred terrain (piste, all-mountain, freeride, freestyle, touring), and your budget.

To refine your selection, several options are available:

  1. The advanced search tool: located at the top of each category page, it allows you to filter by brand, skill level, discipline, and more. By combining these filters, you can quickly narrow down the range and easily find the models best suited to your skiing style.

  2. Contact us on 020 3129 3301: a pair of skis is a technical piece of equipment. Before placing your order, it’s best to make sure the model truly meets your expectations. Our team is here to advise you.

To go further and understand the differences between ski types, take a look at our comprehensive guide 'Which skis to choose?'.

During the process or your order, we'll ask you to complete a form about the mounting of your bindings. With these details, we will be able to mount the bindings with the correct settings. The release value of the bindings is set by a professional skiman, and according to the norm AFNOR FD S 52-748.

If you don't have your own ski boots when you order, the bindings will be pre-mounted. The final settings can be done :

- by a shop if you are renting your ski boots

- by our skiman : you can call us for any technical questions. Our skiman will do the final settings for you. Telephone : 020 3129 3301

All skis you purchase on our website are factory-waxed and tuned. This means they are ready to hit the slopes. However, gear tends to wear and in order to keep it in its best shape, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.

Maintaining your skis is essential for a smooth glide and a solit grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your skis, or on how damaged they are. We recommend you to wax them every 10 riding days and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't overdo it. Tuning is basically scraping off material. If you do it too often, the edges will vanish after some time.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge sharpeners, etc. You can find them on our website.

All products benefit from a manufacturer guarantee, as long as the damage is caused by a manufacturing defect (may it be hidden or obvious).

Usually, the manufacturer guarantee lasts two years.

Only the manufacturer is able to decide if there has been a 'manufacturing defect' or a 'misuse'. Glisshop is only an intermediary between you and the manufacturer.

The manufacturer's guarantee will not apply if the problem comes from a misuse.

Setting the release value of your bindings is a major safety issue.

In order to fully function and ensure safety, your bindings need to be set according to the Afnor FD S 52-748 standard. We wrote down a guide to help you find out the release value matching your needs.
