Product description — Sublime 88

Designed for carving groomed runs and venturing onto all types of snow, the Kastle Sublime 88 is a premium all-mountain ski that combines precise handling with outstanding stability at high speed, thanks to its dual titanal plates.

What is the intended use of the Kastle Sublime 88 ski?

With an 88 mm waist, it delivers excellent edge grip on hardpack while remaining agile from edge to edge. The traditional camber ensures continuous edge contact along the full length of the ski for powerful rebound at the end of each turn. The tip rocker smooths turn initiation and makes transitions through variable snow easier. The dual titanal layers absorb speed and keep the ski stable when the snow gets choppy.

Who is the Kastle Sublime 88 ski for?

This ski is aimed at advanced to expert skiers who are dynamic and technically proficient, capable of harnessing a demanding ski both on-piste and across mixed conditions.

What are the main strengths of the Kastle Sublime 88 ski?

Precision

Edge grip

Versatility

Does the Sublime 88 hold well on hard snow?

Yes. The traditionam camber combined with titanal reinforcement provides solid edge hold and precise control on hard and icy snow.

Is the Sublime 88 stable at high speed?

Yes. The twin titanal plates deliver damping and stiffness, locking the ski in place when speed increases and the snow becomes uneven.

Is the Sublime 88 still manoeuvrable despite its stiffness?

Yes. The Twin Core construction blends softer and denser woods to maintain rebound through linked turns, while the Hollowtech tip technology reduces swing weight for easier edge transitions.

What is the difference between the Sublime 88 and the Sublime 93?

The narrower Sublime 88 is quicker and more precise on piste and hard snow, whereas the Sublime 93 offers greater float in softer conditions.

Tips and advice

How to choose the length of your skis?

After using our calculator, you can explore further with our guides (depending on your skiing style):

And to see the method in action, here’s our video tutorial (example focused on piste / all-mountain skiing, with useful benchmarks whatever your style).

How to choose the size of your piste and all-mountain skis?

At glisshop.co.uk, you’ll find one of the most comprehensive ski selections available online. To choose the right pair, start with three simple criteria: your ability level, your preferred terrain (piste, all-mountain, freeride, freestyle, touring), and your budget.

To refine your selection, several options are available:

  1. The advanced search tool: located at the top of each category page, it allows you to filter by brand, skill level, discipline, and more. By combining these filters, you can quickly narrow down the range and easily find the models best suited to your skiing style.

  2. Contact us on 020 3129 3301: a pair of skis is a technical piece of equipment. Before placing your order, it’s best to make sure the model truly meets your expectations. Our team is here to advise you.

To go further and understand the differences between ski types, take a look at our comprehensive guide 'Which skis to choose?'.

During the process or your order, we'll ask you to complete a form about the mounting of your bindings. With these details, we will be able to mount the bindings with the correct settings. The release value of the bindings is set by a professional skiman, and according to the norm AFNOR FD S 52-748.

If you don't have your own ski boots when you order, the bindings will be pre-mounted. The final settings can be done :

- by a shop if you are renting your ski boots

- by our skiman : you can call us for any technical questions. Our skiman will do the final settings for you. Telephone : 020 3129 3301

All skis you purchase on our website are factory-waxed and tuned. This means they are ready to hit the slopes. However, gear tends to wear and in order to keep it in its best shape, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.

Maintaining your skis is essential for a smooth glide and a solit grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your skis, or on how damaged they are. We recommend you to wax them every 10 riding days and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't overdo it. Tuning is basically scraping off material. If you do it too often, the edges will vanish after some time.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge sharpeners, etc. You can find them on our website.

All products benefit from a manufacturer guarantee, as long as the damage is caused by a manufacturing defect (may it be hidden or obvious).

Usually, the manufacturer guarantee lasts two years.

Only the manufacturer is able to decide if there has been a 'manufacturing defect' or a 'misuse'. Glisshop is only an intermediary between you and the manufacturer.

The manufacturer's guarantee will not apply if the problem comes from a misuse.

Setting the release value of your bindings is a major safety issue.

In order to fully function and ensure safety, your bindings need to be set according to the Afnor FD S 52-748 standard. We wrote down a guide to help you find out the release value matching your needs.

When buying a pair of skis, you will have to complete a form asking for your measurements. Please complete it with the most accurate information: it will allow our technicians to adjust precisely your bindings and lower down the risk of injury.
