Description

The Volkl Mantra 84 W reimagines the all-mountain category in a refined version, focused on precision and control. Designed to explore the entire ski area, it remains enjoyable to handle whatever the conditions—whether the snow is hard-packed or softer. Its main advantage lies in its ability to adapt to a variety of terrains while delivering crisp and secure handling. Directly inspired by Volkl’s expertise, it adopts the construction of the Mantra M7 W but with a narrower waist (84 mm compared to 96 mm), making it more grippy and particularly high-performing on groomers and compact snow.

What is the Volkl Mantra 84 W ski made for?

This model is intended for skiers seeking a versatile and lively piste ski that excels on groomers yet allows for occasional ventures into light powder. Thanks to its 84 mm underfoot, it offers impressive agility on packed snow while maintaining stability in chopped-up terrain or in the side country with a thin layer of fresh snow. The wood core provides rebound and solid support at speed, while the double rocker makes turn initiation easy and transitions quick. Traditional camber ensures strong edge hold on hardpack and powerful acceleration out of turns. Added features include Tailored Carbon Tips and Tailored Titanal Frame—two signature technologies from Volkl—which deliver an even more responsive tip as well as power, rigidity, and reliability even at high speeds. Altogether you get a ski that stays composed no matter what conditions you face; one that thrives when pushed yet remains perfectly stable throughout your run. Narrower than its cousins (Mantra 88 W & M7 W), this model feels incisive with carving orientation whilst still being an accessible high-performance all-mountain option.

Who is the Volkl Mantra 84 W ski aimed at?

This ski is clearly aimed at advanced to expert female skiers who want to commit physically across all types of slopes—and confidently tackle varying snows with technique. It suits technical skiers looking for performance and security on groomers whilst allowing themselves some backcountry outings.

Tips and advice

On glisshop.co.uk, you may feel overwhelmed by the amount of products we sell. How can you find the right skis, which ones can suit your level, your style or your budget?

Your options:

1. The advanced search engine: You'll find it everywhere on our website, as a sidebar on our listing pages. It allows you to select conditions and refine your selection: brand, level, style, etc. When you select them, only the relevant products will show.

2. You can contact us on the 020 3129 3301: skis feature fine technologies and affect your safety. It is important to make sure that the skis you've selected will suit you. Call our landline and get in touch with our team for any questions regarding these products.

During the process or your order, we'll ask you to complete a form about the mounting of your bindings. With these details, we will be able to mount the bindings with the correct settings. The release value of the bindings is set by a professional skiman, and according to the norm AFNOR FD S 52-748.

If you don't have your own ski boots when you order, the bindings will be pre-mounted. The final settings can be done :

- by a shop if you are renting your ski boots

- by our skiman : you can call us for any technical questions. Our skiman will do the final settings for you. Telephone : 020 3129 3301

All skis you purchase on our website are factory-waxed and tuned. This means they are ready to hit the slopes. However, gear tends to wear and in order to keep it in its best shape, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.

Maintaining your skis is essential for a smooth glide and a solit grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your skis, or on how damaged they are. We recommend you to wax them every 10 riding days and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't overdo it. Tuning is basically scraping off material. If you do it too often, the edges will vanish after some time.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge sharpeners, etc. You can find them on our website.

All products benefit from a manufacturer guarantee, as long as the damage is caused by a manufacturing defect (may it be hidden or obvious).

Usually, the manufacturer guarantee lasts two years.

Only the manufacturer is able to decide if there has been a 'manufacturing defect' or a 'misuse'. Glisshop is only an intermediary between you and the manufacturer.

The manufacturer's guarantee will not apply if the problem comes from a misuse.
