Product description — Maven 86 C
Designed for female skiers who want to explore the entire mountain on a responsive ski, the Maven 86 C from Atomic is a women’s all-mountain ski featuring a carbon insert for reduced weight, performing equally well on groomed runs and variable snow off the sides of the piste.
What is the intended use of the Atomic Maven 86 C ski?
With an 86 mm waist, this versatile shape transitions smoothly from groomed snow to chopped-up terrain and powder. The traditional camber ensures continuous edge contact along the length of the ski for precise grip on hardpack. The tip rocker makes turn initiation easier and improves handling in softer snow. Its multi-radius sidecut allows both short turns and long arcs depending on the terrain.
Who is the Atomic Maven 86 C ski designed for?
This ski is aimed at intermediate to advanced female skiers who are already technically confident and want to ski the whole mountain while progressing on a variety of snow conditions.
What are the strengths of the Atomic Maven 86 C ski?
Responsive
Versatile
Lightweight
Is the Maven 86 C lively when linking turns?
Yes. The wood core combined with the Carbon Backbone running through the ski provides rebound and quick energy transfer from edge to edge.
Does the Maven 86 C hold well on hard snow?
Yes. The traditional camber and a carefully tuned 87° side edge angle deliver solid edge grip, even when the snow firms up.
Does the Maven 86 C float in powder?
In light powder and soft side-country snow, yes. The HRZN 3D tip shape increases the surface area for better float. In deep powder, however, its all-mountain orientation reaches its limits.
What differentiates the Maven 86 C from the Maven 103 Cti?
The Maven 86 C is an all-mountain ski focused on piste performance and versatility, lightened with a carbon insert for all-round skiing. The Maven 103 Cti, on the other hand, is built for freeride use, featuring a wider waist and a carbon and titanal construction for charging off-piste at higher speeds.
