Description

The Corvus Freeride was slightly revamped during the winter 2019 - 2020. While remaining at ease in powder and mixed snow, it is a ski that is a little more performant and reactive on hard snow, thanks to its refined waist width and a less pronounced rocker on the foot. It is also equipped with a titanium plate under the foot, adapting to the new hybrid bindings that require deeper drilling. Well, for this technical part, it's mainly your skiman who will be pleased!

What is the programme of the Black Crows Corvus Freebird ski?

The Corvus Freebird is equipped with a 107 mm waist width, allowing you to have a good powder run while maintaining mobility and dynamism on other types of snow. With a slightly reduced rocker zones, the ski/snow contact area is extended and the Corvus Freebird increases its grip on hard snow. The ski is even more stable when riding in cut lines, with which it is easy to trace at any angle while being able to swivel and easily turn short. It remains a ski with a double rocker, thus it is very easy to handle, even if it is a little less pronounced than on the older generations of the Corvus Freebird. With the addition of a fibreglass and carbon fibre reinforced wood shell, this is a very stable, high-performance and maneuverable ski, with which you can descend in a wide variety of snow conditions. It weighs 1,825 grams per ski in a size 176 cm, which is a bit heavy for long runs but is great for a freerando program with great descents.

Who is the Black Crows Corvus Freebird ski for?

This model is intended for experienced or expert skiers, looking for committed trails far from the beaten track, who are looking for a ski with which to make short ascents and ski hard on freeride spots.

Tips and advice

On glisshop.co.uk, you may feel overwhelmed by the amount of products we sell. How can you find the right skis, which ones can suit your level, your style or your budget?

Your options:

1. The advanced search engine: You'll find it everywhere on our website, as a sidebar on our listing pages. It allows you to select conditions and refine your selection: brand, level, style, etc. When you select them, only the relevant products will show.

2. You can contact us on the 020 3129 3301: skis feature fine technologies and affect your safety. It is important to make sure that the skis you've selected will suit you. Call our landline and get in touch with our team for any questions regarding these products.

During the process or your order, we'll ask you to complete a form about the mounting of your bindings. With these details, we will be able to mount the bindings with the correct settings. The release value of the bindings is set by a professional skiman, and according to the norm AFNOR FD S 52-748.

If you don't have your own ski boots when you order, the bindings will be pre-mounted. The final settings can be done :

- by a shop if you are renting your ski boots

- by our skiman : you can call us for any technical questions. Our skiman will do the final settings for you. Telephone : 020 3129 3301

All skis you purchase on our website are factory-waxed and tuned. This means they are ready to hit the slopes. However, gear tends to wear and in order to keep it in its best shape, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.

Maintaining your skis is essential for a smooth glide and a solit grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your skis, or on how damaged they are. We recommend you to wax them every 10 riding days and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't overdo it. Tuning is basically scraping off material. If you do it too often, the edges will vanish after some time.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge sharpeners, etc. You can find them on our website.

All products benefit from a manufacturer guarantee, as long as the damage is caused by a manufacturing defect (may it be hidden or obvious).

Usually, the manufacturer guarantee lasts two years.

Only the manufacturer is able to decide if there has been a 'manufacturing defect' or a 'misuse'. Glisshop is only an intermediary between you and the manufacturer.

The manufacturer's guarantee will not apply if the problem comes from a misuse.
