Description

Situated in the centre of the Talkback range, comprising three models of different widths, the Talkback 88 offers the best balance between lightness and skiability. At only 1,154 grams per ski in a 160 size, it's a light ski underfoot when climbing, but offers responsive support thanks to the excellent weight/performance ratio of its construction. It benefits from the Snophobic technology, a specific coating designed to prevent snow accumulation on the upper part of the ski.

What is the programme of the K2 Talkback 88 ski?

The Talkback 88 features the Paulownia Tour Lite shell, specifically developed by K2 for its versatile touring skis, which have a dual need for lightness and performance. In order to support performance without increasing its weight, there are also longitudinal carbon reinforcements which stabilise the ski, while the titanium plate at the inserts provides greater stability but also strength. Thus, you have a ski with character, capable of lengthening its curve and making nice speed peaks without shaking. The classic camber section in the centre of the ski provides the necessary grip when you're on the piste or on hard snow, while the volume and double rocker allow you to go just about anywhere. It is still very manoeuvrable and requires very little effort on the thighs thanks to its double rocker, which makes pivoting and curve entry/exit much easier.

Who is the K2 Talkback 88 ski for?

This model is designed for intermediate/confirmed skiers looking to begin hiking or freerando or looking to continue to enjoy all that the mountain has to offer while maintaining a good compromise between comfort on the ascent and skiability on the descent.

Tips and advice

On glisshop.co.uk, you may feel overwhelmed by the amount of products we sell. How can you find the right skis, which ones can suit your level, your style or your budget?

Your options:

1. The advanced search engine: You'll find it everywhere on our website, as a sidebar on our listing pages. It allows you to select conditions and refine your selection: brand, level, style, etc. When you select them, only the relevant products will show.

2. You can contact us on the 020 3129 3301: skis feature fine technologies and affect your safety. It is important to make sure that the skis you've selected will suit you. Call our landline and get in touch with our team for any questions regarding these products.

During the process or your order, we'll ask you to complete a form about the mounting of your bindings. With these details, we will be able to mount the bindings with the correct settings. The release value of the bindings is set by a professional skiman, and according to the norm AFNOR FD S 52-748.

If you don't have your own ski boots when you order, the bindings will be pre-mounted. The final settings can be done :

- by a shop if you are renting your ski boots

- by our skiman : you can call us for any technical questions. Our skiman will do the final settings for you. Telephone : 020 3129 3301

All skis you purchase on our website are factory-waxed and tuned. This means they are ready to hit the slopes. However, gear tends to wear and in order to keep it in its best shape, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.

Maintaining your skis is essential for a smooth glide and a solit grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your skis, or on how damaged they are. We recommend you to wax them every 10 riding days and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't overdo it. Tuning is basically scraping off material. If you do it too often, the edges will vanish after some time.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge sharpeners, etc. You can find them on our website.

All products benefit from a manufacturer guarantee, as long as the damage is caused by a manufacturing defect (may it be hidden or obvious).

Usually, the manufacturer guarantee lasts two years.

Only the manufacturer is able to decide if there has been a 'manufacturing defect' or a 'misuse'. Glisshop is only an intermediary between you and the manufacturer.

The manufacturer's guarantee will not apply if the problem comes from a misuse.
