Product description — Superpatrol Carbon

Designed for full-day touring missions, the Majesty Superpatrol Carbon is a free-touring ski built around a lightweight paulownia wood core and carbon–kevlar fibres, allowing effortless climbs while maintaining stability and power on the way down.

What is the Majesty Superpatrol Carbon designed for?

With a 96 mm waist, it provides excellent float in powder while retaining reliable edge grip on hardpack. The tip rocker helps the ski lift easily and initiate turns smoothly, while the traditional camber ensures consistent edge contact. The Cut-Off Tail design shortens the tail and moves the binding position slightly rearward, making the ski feel shorter and more agile without reducing effective edge length. Its versatile turn radius adapts to varied terrain, from spring snow to light powder.

Who is the Majesty Superpatrol Carbon for?

This ski is aimed at advanced to expert skiers who are strong and committed, seeking a touring ski that delivers downhill performance on steep, technical lines and mixed snow conditions without compromising uphill efficiency.

What are the strengths of the Majesty Superpatrol Carbon?

Lightweight construction

Agility

Versatility

Is the Superpatrol Carbon efficient on the ascent?

Yes. The paulownia core keeps the weight to a minimum, and the shortened tail from the Cut-Off Tail design further reduces mass, saving energy on long climbs.

How does the Superpatrol Carbon perform on the descent?

Its semi-hybrid construction, reinforced with carbon–kevlar fibres and textolite plates, provides excellent torsional stiffness and effective vibration damping. It remains stable at high speed and maintains solid edge hold on firm or variable snow.

Does the Cut-Off Tail affect the ski’s handling?

The shortened tail and rearward binding position make the ski quicker to pivot, yet the effective edge still runs almost the full length. This improves manoeuvrability without sacrificing stability, and there’s no need to size down.

Is it easy to attach climbing skins to the Superpatrol Carbon?

Yes. The Skin Clip Tail, a notch in the tail, allows skins to be attached quickly and securely for efficient transitions.

Tips and advice

After using our calculator, you can explore further with our guides (depending on your skiing style):

And to see the method in action, here’s our video tutorial (example focused on piste / all-mountain skiing, with useful benchmarks whatever your style).

At glisshop.co.uk, you’ll find one of the most comprehensive ski selections available online. To choose the right pair, start with three simple criteria: your ability level, your preferred terrain (piste, all-mountain, freeride, freestyle, touring), and your budget.

To refine your selection, several options are available:

  1. The advanced search tool: located at the top of each category page, it allows you to filter by brand, skill level, discipline, and more. By combining these filters, you can quickly narrow down the range and easily find the models best suited to your skiing style.

  2. Contact us on 020 3129 3301: a pair of skis is a technical piece of equipment. Before placing your order, it’s best to make sure the model truly meets your expectations. Our team is here to advise you.

To go further and understand the differences between ski types, take a look at our comprehensive guide 'Which skis to choose?'.

During the process or your order, we'll ask you to complete a form about the mounting of your bindings. With these details, we will be able to mount the bindings with the correct settings. The release value of the bindings is set by a professional skiman, and according to the norm AFNOR FD S 52-748.

If you don't have your own ski boots when you order, the bindings will be pre-mounted. The final settings can be done :

- by a shop if you are renting your ski boots

- by our skiman : you can call us for any technical questions. Our skiman will do the final settings for you. Telephone : 020 3129 3301

All skis you purchase on our website are factory-waxed and tuned. This means they are ready to hit the slopes. However, gear tends to wear and in order to keep it in its best shape, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.

Maintaining your skis is essential for a smooth glide and a solit grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your skis, or on how damaged they are. We recommend you to wax them every 10 riding days and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't overdo it. Tuning is basically scraping off material. If you do it too often, the edges will vanish after some time.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge sharpeners, etc. You can find them on our website.

All products benefit from a manufacturer guarantee, as long as the damage is caused by a manufacturing defect (may it be hidden or obvious).

Usually, the manufacturer guarantee lasts two years.

Only the manufacturer is able to decide if there has been a 'manufacturing defect' or a 'misuse'. Glisshop is only an intermediary between you and the manufacturer.

The manufacturer's guarantee will not apply if the problem comes from a misuse.

Setting the release value of your bindings is a major safety issue.

In order to fully function and ensure safety, your bindings need to be set according to the Afnor FD S 52-748 standard. We wrote down a guide to help you find out the release value matching your needs.
