Description

The Movement Session 85 is a multi-purpose touring ski designed for all-day outings, equally at home climbing and descending on varied terrain.

What's on offer with the Movement Session 85 ski?

Positioned between freerando and light touring skis, the Session 85 is aimed at all-day touring on varied terrain. With 85 mm at the skate, it grips well on hard snow and remains maneuverable in soft or transformed snow. The rocker in the tip makes it easy to enter turns, and it lifts slightly in fresh snow from the edge of the piste.

Who is the Movement Session 85 ski for?

This ski is aimed at experienced to expert skiers, committed and physical, capable of exploiting a technical ski in day-tripping on varied terrain including hard snow, soft snow and transformed passages.

What are the main qualities of the Movement Session 85 ski?

Lightness

Grip

Polyvalence

Is the Session 85 stable on hard and icy snow?

Yes. The double titanium reinforcement and classic camber provide tone and grip on hard snow.

How does the Paulownia core contribute to this ski?

The Paulownia wood lightens the ski by 25% compared to a classic core. This translates into a ski that's easier to wear on the way up and sharper to steer on the way down, without sacrificing bounce out of turns.

Do the cork inserts really make a difference to the ride?

Yes. Replacing the usual plastic inserts, Cork-tip inserts absorb vibrations more progressively. On uneven terrain or heckled snow, the ski transmits less shock and remains more comfortable to drive.

Can the Session 85 be used for committed off-piste or only piste-side?

It's designed for piste and piste-side, but its performance will be limited if you go further. Its width at the skate doesn't allow it to float properly in deep powder.

Tips and advice

After using our calculator, you can explore further with our guides (depending on your skiing style):

And to see the method in action, here’s our video tutorial (example focused on piste / all-mountain skiing, with useful benchmarks whatever your style).

At glisshop.co.uk, you’ll find one of the most comprehensive ski selections available online. To choose the right pair, start with three simple criteria: your ability level, your preferred terrain (piste, all-mountain, freeride, freestyle, touring), and your budget.

To refine your selection, several options are available:

  1. The advanced search tool: located at the top of each category page, it allows you to filter by brand, skill level, discipline, and more. By combining these filters, you can quickly narrow down the range and easily find the models best suited to your skiing style.

  2. Contact us on 020 3129 3301: a pair of skis is a technical piece of equipment. Before placing your order, it’s best to make sure the model truly meets your expectations. Our team is here to advise you.

To go further and understand the differences between ski types, take a look at our comprehensive guide 'Which skis to choose?'.

During the process or your order, we'll ask you to complete a form about the mounting of your bindings. With these details, we will be able to mount the bindings with the correct settings. The release value of the bindings is set by a professional skiman, and according to the norm AFNOR FD S 52-748.

If you don't have your own ski boots when you order, the bindings will be pre-mounted. The final settings can be done :

- by a shop if you are renting your ski boots

- by our skiman : you can call us for any technical questions. Our skiman will do the final settings for you. Telephone : 020 3129 3301

All skis you purchase on our website are factory-waxed and tuned. This means they are ready to hit the slopes. However, gear tends to wear and in order to keep it in its best shape, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.

Maintaining your skis is essential for a smooth glide and a solit grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your skis, or on how damaged they are. We recommend you to wax them every 10 riding days and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't overdo it. Tuning is basically scraping off material. If you do it too often, the edges will vanish after some time.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge sharpeners, etc. You can find them on our website.

All products benefit from a manufacturer guarantee, as long as the damage is caused by a manufacturing defect (may it be hidden or obvious).

Usually, the manufacturer guarantee lasts two years.

Only the manufacturer is able to decide if there has been a 'manufacturing defect' or a 'misuse'. Glisshop is only an intermediary between you and the manufacturer.

The manufacturer's guarantee will not apply if the problem comes from a misuse.
