This is the thinnest skating model in the Rise range from Volkl, the Rise 80 ski is very suitable for touring and is perfect for beginners. Thanks to its lightweight construction, it ensures easy ascents and remains accessible on descents on hard snow.           

What is the programme of the Volkl Rise 80 ski?  

Thanks to the Tourlite wood shell developed specifically for touring, the Rise is as light as can be, ensuring easy ascents. You can make long strides without exerting too much energy. Its waist width of 80 mm makes it effective on hard snow by offering a little dynamism during edge transitions. It also has a small front rocker that helps you get into your turns. This rocker provides a great ride in light powder snow with just the right amount of lift. A ski touring ski which remains very accessible to control on descents and not very energy consuming on ascents.

How to choose the size of your piste and all-mountain skis?

During the process or your order, we'll ask you to complete a form about the mounting of your bindings. With these details, we will be able to mount the bindings with the correct settings. The release value of the bindings is set by a professional skiman, and according to the norm AFNOR FD S 52-748.

If you don't have your own ski boots when you order, the bindings will be pre-mounted. The final settings can be done :

- by a shop if you are renting your ski boots

All skis you purchase on our website are factory-waxed and tuned. This means they are ready to hit the slopes. However, gear tends to wear and in order to keep it in its best shape, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.

Maintaining your skis is essential for a smooth glide and a solit grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your skis, or on how damaged they are. We recommend you to wax them every 10 riding days and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't overdo it. Tuning is basically scraping off material. If you do it too often, the edges will vanish after some time.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge sharpeners, etc. You can find them on our website.

All products benefit from a manufacturer guarantee, as long as the damage is caused by a manufacturing defect (may it be hidden or obvious).

Usually, the manufacturer guarantee lasts two years.

Only the manufacturer is able to decide if there has been a 'manufacturing defect' or a 'misuse'. Glisshop is only an intermediary between you and the manufacturer.

The manufacturer's guarantee will not apply if the problem comes from a misuse.
