Wide choice of men's, women's and kids' snowboard bindings
Often chosen after the board and boots, bindings are nevertheless the link that connects you to your board and transfers your energy to it: they matter just as much as the rest when it comes to control, precision and comfort. Glisshop brings together a wide range of men's, women's and children's bindings, with models for every ability level, from beginner to expert rider, and every riding style, from freestyle to freeride.
The best brands: Burton, Nitro, Salomon, K2, Union...
Glisshop stocks the biggest snowboard binding brands:
Bindings for every way of riding
This is the real starting point: your riding style determines the flex of the binding, mainly defined by the height and stiffness of the highback and by the chassis. Match it to your board and your boots.
Freestyle
Relatively soft bindings, a low and often asymmetrical highback, canted footbed: maximum mobility and forgiveness for butters, tweaking grabs and recovering from mistakes. Also a great starting point for beginners.
All-mountain
The sweet spot. A medium flex, soft enough for having fun in the park, precise enough to hold an edge on piste and off-piste. No preferred terrain: fresh snow, carving and snowpark laps all in the same day.
Freeride & carving
Stiff bindings, high highback, durable materials: maximum response and control for powerful riding through technical sections. Designed for advanced riders, they are more physically demanding.
There is no absolute rule: some riders hit freestyle features with a firm highback, others ride freeride with a relatively soft binding. Snowboarding is all about feel.
Classic strap-in
The most common system: two straps, step in, tighten up. Not the fastest, but reliable, comfortable and highly adjustable. See classic strap-in bindings.
Rear entry / quick entry
A reclining highback lets you step in from the rear without touching the straps: a real time-saver, with most models remaining hybrid designs (front entry still possible). See quick-entry bindings. The Nidecker Flow range, a pioneer in this category, combines a reclining highback with a one-piece strap for instant entry.
Step-in (Burton Step On, K2 Clicker)
Clip in, release, standing up, in just a few seconds, with no straps. Burton Step On and K2 Clicker offer precision and speed, but work only with their dedicated boots.
Splitboard
For the backcountry, dedicated splitboard bindings switch between uphill mode with climbing skins and downhill mode. Most retain the feel of a traditional binding on the descent while allowing efficient walking on the climb.
Compatibility: the key check before buying
Two points to check, and you’re sorted:
- Your board inserts: 2x4 and 4x4 standards accept almost all bindings. Burton’s The Channel system is compatible with most brands, while Burton EST bindings are exclusively Channel-specific.
- Your boots: Burton Step On and K2 Clicker systems require compatible boots. Other binding types (traditional straps and rear-entry models) are compatible with all snowboard boots.
For everything you need to know about mounting and adjustment: adjust and install bindings.
The right size and the right support
Binding size is chosen according to your boot size: each product page indicates the compatible range and includes a size chart. But a properly sized binding is also about support: it must hold the boot firmly while allowing it to flex naturally, with no play or unwanted movement. A good rule of thumb: once the straps are tightened, their ends should not stick out excessively — if they do, it’s the wrong size. Finally, women’s models offer dimensions and a highback adapted to calf morphology. If in doubt, our advisers can guide you by chat, phone or in store.
Snowboard bindings FAQ
How do you choose snowboard bindings?
Start with your riding style and ability level: these determine the flex. Soft and forgiving for freestyle and beginners, medium for all-mountain, stiff and responsive for freeride, carving and powder. Then check compatibility with your board and boots. To understand in detail what makes up a binding (highback, chassis, heelcup, footbed, straps), our guide to choosing snowboard bindings breaks it all down.
What is the best snowboard binding?
There is no universal model: the best one is the binding that matches your riding and your boots. For our experts’ selection, see our top snowboard bindings of the season.
What are the different types of snowboard bindings?
Classic strap-in, rear-entry / quick-entry systems, Burton Step On and K2 Clicker step-in systems (dedicated boots), and splitboard bindings for the backcountry.
What is the best angle for snowboard bindings?
For beginners, 15° at the front and 0° at the rear works well. Freestylers often prefer a duck stance (15° / -15°); in freeride and freecarve, positive angles at both the front and rear are worth considering.
