Located right in the middle of the Wayback range, composed of 5 models of different widths, the Wayback 88 is the best possible compromise between comfort on the ascent and skiability on the descent. Able to operate in a wide variety of snow conditions, it is comfortable and efficient in all situations.

What is the programme of the K2 Wayback 88 ski?

The Wayback 88 benefits from the Paulownia Tour Lite construction, developed specifically for this range of versatile touring skis that need to be both lightweight and high performance. This model is additionally reinforced with longitudinal carbon strips that stabilise the slat without weighing it down, as well as a titanium plate at the bindings for added strength, stability and cushioning. The result is a light but consistent ski, which allows you to quickly swallow the difference in height but also to hurtle down the slope while having fun piloting. The volume of the ski, with a 88 mm waist width and more than 120 mm in the front spatula, provides an interesting flotation in powder snow, well supported by the double rocker which will facilitate the ski's ability to float in the deepest snow. The ride is quite fun, since the double rocker makes it easy to enter and exit curves and to pivot, while the classic camber provides the necessary grip on hard snow. A very complete ski!

Do you fit the bindings on skis?

During the process or your order, we'll ask you to complete a form about the mounting of your bindings. With these details, we will be able to mount the bindings with the correct settings. The release value of the bindings is set by a professional skiman, and according to the norm AFNOR FD S 52-748.

If you don't have your own ski boots when you order, the bindings will be pre-mounted. The final settings can be done :

- by a shop if you are renting your ski boots

- by our skiman : you can call us for any technical questions. Our skiman will do the final settings for you. Telephone : 020 3129 3301

Are the skis ready to use?

All skis you purchase on our website are factory-waxed and tuned. This means they are ready to hit the slopes. However, gear tends to wear and in order to keep it in its best shape, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.

Maintaining your skis is essential for a smooth glide and a solit grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your skis, or on how damaged they are. We recommend you to wax them every 10 riding days and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't overdo it. Tuning is basically scraping off material. If you do it too often, the edges will vanish after some time.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge sharpeners, etc. You can find them on our website.

Is the equipment under guarantee?

All products benefit from a manufacturer guarantee, as long as the damage is caused by a manufacturing defect (may it be hidden or obvious).

Usually, the manufacturer guarantee lasts two years.

Only the manufacturer is able to decide if there has been a 'manufacturing defect' or a 'misuse'. Glisshop is only an intermediary between you and the manufacturer.

The manufacturer's guarantee will not apply if the problem comes from a misuse.
