Blizzard Zero G touring ski

The Blizzard Zero G range brings together touring skis designed to keep weight down on the ascent while maintaining control and stability on the descent. The models currently available mainly differ in waist width: the Zero G 88 prioritises long climbs and technical terrain, the Zero G 96 offers greater versatility across mixed snow conditions, while the Zero G 105 delivers more float for freeouring. Choosing a Blizzard Zero G mainly depends on how much importance you place on uphill efficiency, the width you are after, and the type of snow you are likely to encounter. The Zero G 88 is the narrowest and lightest model on this page. The Zero G 96 is the middle-ground option for switching between hardpack, transformed snow and powder. The Zero G 105 is wider and more suited to descents in deep snow.

A new construction for the Blizzard Zero G 88 and 96

The Blizzard Zero G 88 and 96 use a Trueblend Tour 2.0 core combining lightweight paulownia with denser poplar. The distribution of these wood species helps reinforce the area underfoot while retaining more suppleness in the tips and tails.

An ash insert is placed beneath the binding zone to improve torsional stiffness and power transfer. This new generation uses less carbon than the previous Zero G 85 and 95 models fitted with Carbon Drive 3.0. The Zero G 105, however, retains a specific construction based on this carbon technology.

The Zero G 88 and 96 also feature a five-radius sidecut. This geometry is designed to combine a more stable central section on hard snow with smoother transitions through the tip and tail.

Blizzard Zero G 88: precision and uphill efficiency

At 88 mm underfoot, the Blizzard Zero G 88 is the narrowest model in the collection. Its low weight and progressive radius make it ideal for outings where uphill efficiency and control on firm snow are especially important.

Its construction differs from that of the Zero G 88 and 96. It uses a lightweight vertical paulownia core combined with Carbon Drive 3.0 technology. This structure is designed to keep the weight down despite the ski’s width, while still preserving enough stiffness for the descent.

The Blizzard Zero G 88 W is aimed at female skiers who prioritise uphill efficiency and want a precise ski for technical terrain and freshly groomed or softer snow. Its 88 mm waist and low weight make long climbs and kick turns easier.

Blizzard Zero G 88 and 96: what are the differences?

The Blizzard Zero G 88 is lighter and more agile when changing edge angles. It is a better fit for skiers who prioritise long ascents, technical sections and conditions where grip and precision are key.

The Blizzard Zero G 96 offers more surface area underfoot. As a result, it delivers greater stability in uneven snow and more float in fresh snow, at the cost of a slightly higher weight on the climb.

What is the difference between the Blizzard Zero G 96 and 105?

The Zero G 96 is lighter and more versatile for regular touring use. It is better suited to skiers who alternate between long ascents, groomed snow, transformed snow and moderate powder.

The Zero G 105 is wider, heavier and more geared towards descending in deep snow. It offers more float but requires more energy on ascents and kick turns. Its Carbon Drive 3.0 construction also differs from the Trueblend Tour build with ash insert on the Zero G 96.

Which skins should you use with the Blizzard Zero G?

Glisshop offers pre-cut skins for the Blizzard Zero G 88. Their shape is matched to the ski’s sidecut, so there is no need to trim them by hand.

Before ordering, you should check that the skin size range matches the ski length. Skins intended for the Zero G 88 should not be used as a reference for the Zero G 96 or 105, whose sidecuts are different.
