Description

Designed to tackle long climbs on skins before switching to the slope, the Zero G 105 from Blizzard is a lightweight touring ski that stays on course during the descent. Its carbon construction and lightweight core make it the perfect companion for seeking out untracked lines, where every ounce of gear matters with every step.

What is the Blizzard Zero G 105 designed for?

With a 105 mm waist, it floats in deep powder and offers a true playground on the descent. The tip rocker helps lift the ski and pivot on fresh snow. The camber underfoot maintains edge-to-snow contact and ensures grip when the snow hardens. Its extended radius makes it ideal for large, stable turns on open terrain.

Who is the Blizzard Zero G 105 ski designed for?

This ski is designed for advanced to expert skiers—committed and physically fit—who can handle a technical ski on demanding backcountry routes and manage a descent on any terrain on the way back from a long outing.

What are the main features of the Blizzard Zero G 105 ski?

Lightweight

Versatility

Float

Is the Zero G 105 lightweight on the ascent?

Yes. The paulownia core combined with the ISOCore and the Carbon Drive 3.0 chassis significantly reduce weight, making it ideal for long ascents and large elevation gains.

Does the Zero G 105 float well in deep powder?

Yes. Its width and tip rocker allow it to lift off and float in fresh snow, even when it gets deeper.

How does the Zero G 105 perform on hard snow?

The camber underfoot maintains edge-to-snow contact in the central zone and provides grip on groomed or refrozen snow. The two carbon reinforcements under the bindings improve power transfer and edge hold in these conditions.

Is the Zero G 105 stable on the descent despite its light weight?

Yes. The full-length Carbon Drive 3.0 chassis provides torsional stiffness and damping that stabilize the ski in variable snow conditions—a rare feature on such a lightweight model.

Is the Zero G 105 compatible with a low-tech binding setup?

Yes. It’s designed to accommodate low-tech insert bindings, the standard setup for ski touring to save weight on the ascent.

Tips and advice

After using our calculator, you can explore further with our guides (depending on your skiing style):

And to see the method in action, here’s our video tutorial (example focused on piste / all-mountain skiing, with useful benchmarks whatever your style).

At glisshop.co.uk, you’ll find one of the most comprehensive ski selections available online. To choose the right pair, start with three simple criteria: your ability level, your preferred terrain (piste, all-mountain, freeride, freestyle, touring), and your budget.

To refine your selection, several options are available:

  1. The advanced search tool: located at the top of each category page, it allows you to filter by brand, skill level, discipline, and more. By combining these filters, you can quickly narrow down the range and easily find the models best suited to your skiing style.

  2. Contact us on 020 3129 3301: a pair of skis is a technical piece of equipment. Before placing your order, it’s best to make sure the model truly meets your expectations. Our team is here to advise you.

To go further and understand the differences between ski types, take a look at our comprehensive guide 'Which skis to choose?'.

During the process or your order, we'll ask you to complete a form about the mounting of your bindings. With these details, we will be able to mount the bindings with the correct settings. The release value of the bindings is set by a professional skiman, and according to the norm AFNOR FD S 52-748.

If you don't have your own ski boots when you order, the bindings will be pre-mounted. The final settings can be done :

- by a shop if you are renting your ski boots

- by our skiman : you can call us for any technical questions. Our skiman will do the final settings for you. Telephone : 020 3129 3301

All skis you purchase on our website are factory-waxed and tuned. This means they are ready to hit the slopes. However, gear tends to wear and in order to keep it in its best shape, you need to maintain base and edges on a regular basis.

Maintaining your skis is essential for a smooth glide and a solit grip. Frequency of maintenance may vary depending on how often you use your skis, or on how damaged they are. We recommend you to wax them every 10 riding days and at the end of the season. Edges need to be tuned up to 2 times per season if you want to keep a good edge control. However, don't overdo it. Tuning is basically scraping off material. If you do it too often, the edges will vanish after some time.

When your base is damaged and shows shallow scratches or rock gouge, it is possible to repair it.

You can get these repairs done by professional ski shop, or if the gouge is only superficial you may repair it yourself. To do so, you will need special tools and materials such as wax, Ptex for repairing bases, edge sharpeners, etc. You can find them on our website.

All products benefit from a manufacturer guarantee, as long as the damage is caused by a manufacturing defect (may it be hidden or obvious).

Usually, the manufacturer guarantee lasts two years.

Only the manufacturer is able to decide if there has been a 'manufacturing defect' or a 'misuse'. Glisshop is only an intermediary between you and the manufacturer.

The manufacturer's guarantee will not apply if the problem comes from a misuse.

Setting the release value of your bindings is a major safety issue.

In order to fully function and ensure safety, your bindings need to be set according to the Afnor FD S 52-748 standard. We wrote down a guide to help you find out the release value matching your needs.
